The Software Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including the design, development, maintenance, unit testing and support of all assigned products and custom development solutions. Could be limited to portions of a larger application. This role will develop the necessary frontend and backend application modules necessary to meet projects objectives, or products roadmaps. The developer will be responsible for troubleshooting and on-going development of existing applications in addition to new development.
What your impact will look like here:
- Analyze information processing or computational needs for later planning and design.
- Confer with clients regarding the nature of the information processing to validate data gathering and requirements definitions.
- Define the goals of the system and devise flow charts and diagrams describing logical operational steps of the product or custom application.
- Create or review technical design documentation to ensure the accurate development of solutions.
- Develop products, modules or custom applications according to quality standards.
- Ensure product/project quality through validation of requirements prior to turn over to customer.
- Document code internally with appropriate comments. Additionally provide the necessary written documentation including software/object design, database designs and data dictionaries.
- Maintain and make proper use of library of model documents, templates, or other reusable knowledge assets.
- Perform the necessary database design work to meet software development requirements.
- Fine tune DBMS configuration settings to ensure optimal application performance.
- Review and understand network topology to identify and troubleshoot system dependencies.
- Review configuration at the application, database, server and network level to provide a secured application environment.
- Conduct or coordinate tests to ensure development is consistent with defined needs.
- Perform and monitor software releases and installations as defined for the project.
- Provide technical support and responds to customer or internal inquiries regarding errors, performance issues, other problems or questions.
- Complete project tasks within establish deadlines and communicate delivery status proactively to project team and management on a timely basis.
- Serve as project or product leaders for particular systems projects.
- Participation in informative, well-organized presentations to project stakeholders and management for the demonstration of functionality throughout the project lifecycle or sales cycle. May assist in the preparation of tasks estimates.
- Participate and/or direct code reviews.
- Communicate with customers, competitors, suppliers, professional organizations, or others to stay abreast of industry or business trends.
- Communicate effectively with business representatives at all levels of the organization.
- Perform other tasks related to project or customer activities, as assigned by Supervisor.
You'll love this job if you have / can:
- 3+ years of experience developing, testing, shipping, and supporting production-quality SaaS based web applications
- knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Should be able to function equally as well independently or as part of a larger implementation team.
- Knowledge of problem analysis, structured analysis, and design and programming techniques.
- Good grounding in development best practice skills, including requirements definition, analysis, design, testing, implementation, documentation and support.
- Knowledge of programming languages, including C#, ASP.NET, TSQL (HTML,JS, CSS)
- Appropriate use of technologies and tools available for the company based on product, project or solution needs.
- Ability to perform detailed data analysis (i.e., determine the structure, content, and quality of the data through examination of source systems and data samples)
- Applied knowledge of object-oriented design principals and implementation.
