The opportunity
The Unity Global Communications team is seeking a Social Media Manager & Content Creator to shape how Unity shows up across social platforms. You’ll develop and execute creative and support data-driven strategies that grow awareness and engagement across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.

What you'll be doing

  • Concept, design, and produce end-to-end visual content, including short-form vertical video (Reels, TikToks, Shorts), graphics, GIFs, carousels, and trend-driven assets.
  • Support building and execute platform-specific social strategies and tactics that drive brand awareness and engagement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to amplify Unity’s campaigns
  • Help manage the editorial calendar, content pipeline, and publishing process
  • Use performance data to evaluate impact and refine creative strategy
  • Stay current on emerging design trends, video editing techniques, and social media best practices

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience growing a brand’s social presence
  • Expert knowledge of software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut, with a strong grasp of pacing and visual storytelling for social-first content.
  • Excellent communicator who can simplify technical concepts in relatable ways
  • Experience partnering with influencers or creators to extend brand reach
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, distributed team
  • Comfortable on-camera or behind-the-camera, with a creative and analytical mindset
  • Someone with a Social-First Mindset: The ability to natively translate complex topics into platform-native formats, hooks, and visual language rather than adapting traditional marketing materials after the fact.

You might also have

  • Familiarity with Unity’s tech/products, gaming, 3D creation, or real-time technology communities
  • An eye for emerging trends and formats across digital culture
  • A mix of creative and analytical skills — equally excited by concepting ideas and measuring performance
  • Social media community management experience
  • Experience using video editing softwares (like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut), Canva, Figma, and social scheduling platforms.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
