About HeyGen

At HeyGen, our mission is to make visual storytelling accessible to all. Over the last decade, visual content has become the preferred method of information creation, consumption, and retention. But the ability to create such content, in particular videos, continues to be costly and challenging to scale. Our ambition is to build technology that equips more people with the power to reach, captivate, and inspire audiences.

Position Summary

HeyGen is on a mission to make video creation as easy as sending an email. We're building the future of AI-powered video and growing fast. We're looking for a sharp, creative social media operator to own our presence on X, one of the most important channels for reaching the builders, creators, and knowledge workers we serve.

This is a high-ownership, high-visibility IC role. You'll set the strategy and execute it yourself, from crafting original posts to jumping into conversations to building the HeyGen voice on one of the internet's most influential platforms.

This role is based in our Los Angeles or San Francisco office.

Core Responsibilities

  • Define and drive HeyGen's X strategy, including content pillars, posting cadence, engagement approach, and growth tactics
  • Write and publish original content daily, including posts, threads, replies, reposts, and quote posts
  • Monitor conversations in real time and engage authentically with our community, industry voices, and potential customers
  • Build and maintain relationships with creators, influencers, and advocates in the AI, video, and creator economy space
  • Identify trending conversations and cultural moments where HeyGen has a genuine, credible point of view
  • Collaborate with product, design, and marketing to turn launches and milestones into compelling X moments
  • Track and report on performance metrics and use data to continuously refine the strategy
  • Experiment with formats and content types to find what resonates and scale what works

Requirements

  • 1 to 4 years of experience managing social media for a brand, with meaningful X-specific experience
  • Strong writing instincts and the ability to match a brand voice while still sounding like a real human
  • A deep understanding of how X works, its culture, its algorithms, and what makes content take off there
  • Comfort operating with autonomy and ambiguity. You don't wait to be told what to post
  • Genuine curiosity about AI, video, and creator culture. You spend time on X because you love it, not just because it's your job
  • Sharp editorial judgment about when to engage, when to stay quiet, and when to take a swing
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, product, and design teams
  • Ability to move fast and maintain quality at the same time

Nice to haves

  • You’re in tune with the meme culture
  • Experience at a high-growth startup or tech company
  • A personal X presence you're proud of
  • Familiarity with AI video tools or the broader creator economy
  • Experience using analytics tools like Sprout Social, Brandwatch, or native X Analytics

Compensation
Base salary Range: $100,000 to $130,000

Total compensation includes cash compensation, equity, and benefits.

Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.  HeyGen considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal equity, as well as location, market and business considerations when extending an offer.  As part of our total rewards package, HeyGen offers comprehensive benefits including a 401k plan, health benefits, generous PTO, a parental leave program and emotional health resources.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
