SUMMARY

Primoris Energy Services is seeking an experienced Small Tools / Equipment Manager to oversee daily tool room operations, control and distribution of small tools and construction equipment, and ensure compliance with lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures across active job sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate equipment inventories, coordinating inspections and maintenance, supporting field operations, and ensuring tools and equipment are available, safe, and operational to support construction activities. This position plays a critical role in promoting efficient operations, equipment accountability, and safe work practices onsite.

JOB DUTIES

  • Direct and oversee day-to-day tool room operations, including the issuance, return, tracking, and storage of small tools and construction equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for tools and equipment, ensuring accountability and proper documentation of all transactions.
  • Implement and enforce lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures and ensure compliance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Coordinate inspections, maintenance, calibration, and repair of tools and equipment to ensure operational readiness and safety compliance.
  • Monitor tool and equipment usage to minimize losses, downtime, and unnecessary replacement costs.
  • Collaborate with project management, field supervision, and procurement teams to forecast equipment needs and support project schedules.
  • Oversee equipment staging, distribution, and mobilization activities for construction job sites.
  • Conduct routine audits of the tool room and equipment inventory to ensure accuracy and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and transportation practices for tools and construction equipment.
  • Provide leadership, training, and guidance to tool room attendants and support personnel.
  • Assist with general oversight and coordination of all construction equipment onsite, including vendor support and rental equipment management.
  • Prepare reports related to inventory levels, equipment utilization, maintenance schedules, and replacement planning.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the tool room and storage areas.
     

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training or certifications related to equipment management or construction operations preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tool room operations, equipment management, warehouse operations, or construction support within an industrial construction environment.
  • Strong knowledge of small tools, construction equipment, inventory control practices, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Working knowledge of lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures and applicable safety regulations.
  • Proficiency with inventory tracking systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills with the ability to mentor and train personnel.
  • Ability to lift and move tools and equipment as required and work in various outdoor job site conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
