Job Description:

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a ServiceNow Developer Principal, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customers. You will play a crucial role via the following:

  • Design, build, and customize applications on the ServiceNow platform, including ITSM modules like Incident, Problem, and Change Management
  • Create custom scripts, including Business Rules and Script Includes, to automate processes and meet business requirements
  • Connect the ServiceNow platform with other systems and applications using technologies like REST/SOAP
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as user and role management, system maintenance, and health checks
  • Customize user interfaces, forms, and workflows to align with business needs
  • Provide end-user support and troubleshooting for issues related to integrated processes and platform functionality
  • Work with end users, stakeholders, and management to define and create reports, dashboards, and data analysis products
  • Participate in IT-related technical processes reviews, postmortems, and continual process improvement
  • Maintain current ServiceNow and industry certifications, while obtaining additional certifications

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The ServiceNow Developer Principal must have:
 

● Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
 

● Experience: 5+ years of related experience
 

● Required Skills:

  • Expertise in developing and customizing ServiceNow applications and modules, especially ITSM
  • Proficiency with integration methods like SOAP, REST, and web services, including creating and consuming them
  • Strong scripting skill with at least one language – preferably JavaScript
  • Understanding of ServiceNow's data management tools such as Import Sets, Transform Maps, and the CMDB
  • Ability to analyze requirements, troubleshoot issues, and develop effective technical solutions.
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
  • Understanding of the Agile software testing process and lifecycle, from smoke test to integration to production deployment
  • Ability to identify, understand, document, and create functionality aligning with customer value streams
  • Ability to communicate as a high-level technical authority, contribute to whitepapers, BOEs, and design docs, and lead high-stakes demos to customers
  • Organizational and time management skills while working in a rapid software development environment
  • Ability to identify and learn new technologies quickly
  • Ability to drive methodology changes, manage customer deliverables, identify and resolve process issues, and shape standards across-the-board
  • Good communication skills for managing customer interactions and negotiating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence stakeholders at all levels, mentor junior team members, support staff development, lead knowledge shares, and lead new innovation projects and tech pilots

The likely salary range for this position is $123,250 - $166,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

GDIT typically provides new employees with 15 days of paid leave per calendar year to be used for vacations, personal business, and illness and an additional 10 paid holidays per year. Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee’s date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees. To ensure our employees are able to protect their income, other offerings such as short and long-term disability benefits, life, accidental death and dismemberment, personal accident, critical illness and business travel and accident insurance are provided or available.
