CXAI is redefining the workplace experience with an AI-powered platform that brings simplicity and delight to the way people work. From booking a desk or meeting space, to navigating the office, to staying on top of company news and notifications, we unify everyday workflows into one seamless, human-centered interface. Recognized for our innovation and usability, we help enterprises boost productivity, optimize space, and foster employee engagement. At our core, we’re building the workplace’s best digital personal assistant — one that makes every employee’s day smoother, smarter, and more enjoyable.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior UX Designer to take ownership of end-to-end design across our mobile and web applications. You’ll be joining early in our product journey, helping to define not only our AI-powered user experiences but also our design culture and systems.  This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a startup environment, enjoys shaping process as much as crafting elegant, human-centered experiences, and can balance both execution and mentorship responsibilities.

What You’ll Do

  • Independently lead end-to-end design projects from concept through execution.
    • Collaborate with PMs and engineers to translate product requirements into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that are ready for development.
    • Deliver both flow-level interactions and pixel-perfect UI polish with equal attention to detail.
    • Design visualizations that are understandable and usable by diverse user groups, including those with accessibility needs
    • Rapidly prototype and test ideas to inform product direction and decisions.
    • Partner with research and product teams to validate solutions through usability testing and iteration; use metrics and feedback to continuously refine and improve designs for clarity, efficiency, and engagement
  • Own and evolve our design system and visualization standards, ensuring consistency, scalability, and accessibility across applications, dashboards, and reports.
    • Build frameworks and guidelines for data-heavy applications to support rapid growth and consistency
  • Mentor, support, and empower junior design team members by fostering their growth in craft, confidence, and creative autonomy, while recognizing and valuing their unique contributions
  • Contribute to shaping the design function within the company as one of its early design leaders.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a Design field (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial, etc), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), a related field, or relevant practical experience.
  • 7+ years of design experience for mobile and web applications, with demonstrated high user interaction and adoption.
  • Ability to translate complex problems and flows into intuitive, purposeful designs that help users achieve their goals.
  • Equal strength in designing for user flow and human interaction as well as delivering visual polish.
  • Understanding that the way an app makes you feel is equally important as what the app does.
  • Experience defining and expanding design systems, components, and patterns.
  • Expertise in Figma and well-versed in compatible plugins to support asset interoperability, accessibility, and design throughput.
  • Comfortable working in close collaboration with product managers, engineers, and customer advisories.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills when advocating for design concepts and decisions.
  • Curious and adaptable, with a low-ego, team-oriented and customer-focused approach.
  • Innate growth mindset that can thrive in a startup environment with evolving processes.
  • A passion for mentoring, fostering an inclusive design culture across the organization, and bringing seasoned design expertise to customer engagements.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with motion design and microinteractions.
  • Experience with accessibility-first design.
  • Familiarity with designing for AI-driven or agentic experiences.
  • Experience with both consumer-facing and enterprise/workplace products.

Why Join Us?

  • Early opportunity to shape the design function and influence product direction.
  • Direct impact in a fast-moving environment where you’re able to reimagine stale workflows and your work quickly reaches users.
  • Chance to work on a product that blends consumer-grade delight with enterprise impact.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
