About the Team

Workday’s Corporate Treasury team combines strategic thinking with analytical rigor to support the company’s growth and financial strength. We deliver the liquidity insights, discipline, and cross-functional partnership needed to help the business scale with confidence.

About the Role

Workday is seeking a Senior Treasury Manager to join our Corporate Treasury team. This role will lead the company’s 13-week cash flow forecasting capability, with primary responsibility for forecast quality, insight generation, and continuous process improvement. This is a highly visible role for a treasury professional who brings strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work across functions to strengthen forecast accuracy and liquidity planning. You will play a key role in translating forecast signals into actionable guidance for treasury leadership and business partners. You will also help identify opportunities to use AI and emerging tools to improve forecasting processes, strengthen insight generation, and enhance forecast accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the global rolling 13-week cash flow forecast, with end-to-end ownership for forecast quality, rigor, and continuous improvement.
  • Refine forecasting methodologies, assumptions, and data inputs to improve the accuracy and reliability of projected liquidity needs.
  • Perform forecast vs actual analysis to identify root causes, enhance model precision, and improve future forecasting outcomes.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the underlying drivers of cash movements and translate that analysis into clear insights on trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Partner closely with FP&A, Tax, Accounting, Payroll, AP/AR, and other cross-functional stakeholders to gather inputs, challenge assumptions, and improve forecast discipline.
  • Provide executive-level visibility into liquidity shifts, forecast changes, and emerging risks to support timely decision-making.
  • Identify and apply opportunities to use AI and emerging technologies to improve forecasting efficiency, strengthen analysis, and enhance forecast accuracy.
  • Contribute to treasury’s broader liquidity management strategy by connecting near-term forecast insights to operational and strategic decisions.

About You

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Corporate Treasury, Finance, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and financial analysis.

Other Qualifications:

  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret results and identify the business drivers behind them.
  • Strong understanding of liquidity management principles and the judgment to identify risks, pressure-test assumptions, and raise issues early.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Treasury Management Systems, ERPs, or other financial planning tools; Workday experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively across teams, align stakeholders around stronger inputs and processes, and drive improvements without direct authority.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to distill complex liquidity and forecasting concepts into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Strong operational discipline, attention to detail, and follow-through in an environment where forecast accuracy is critical.
  • A proactive, continuous-improvement mindset focused on strengthening models, processes, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability or strong learning agility to adopt AI and emerging tools in ways that improve process design, analytical rigor, and forecast accuracy.
  • CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) preferred.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
