Lead the recruiting efforts for high technical roles in aerospace and defense sectors, guiding candidates through the interview process and ensuring an excellent candidate experience.
Hermeus is a venture-backed defense aviation company reclaiming the lost art of rapid iterative prototyping to build the fastest aircraft in the world today. By prioritizing relentless hardware iteration, we deliver high-speed systems at the pace of the modern battlefield. We work with the Department of War to provide the high-speed capabilities our nation and its allies need to maintain a durable, asymmetric advantage.
This is a 6-month contract role with the potential to convert to full-time. The team is directly responsible for bringing in the people who shape the company’s growth and execution.
Recruiting at Hermeus means working on technically challenging, high-impact roles in an environment where hiring quality and speed genuinely matter. You’ll be exposed to complex searches across multiple disciplines and collaborate closely with leadership as the company scales.
Responsibilities:
- Lead kickoff meetings with Hiring Managers to develop requisitions, understand recruiting needs and discuss headcount while acting as a partner by providing insight and guidance into the entire interview/recruiting process.
- Create and execute long-term strategies to source candidates and build talent pipelines for both current and future needs.
- Actively source and engage candidates (the best candidates may not even be looking!) using innovative techniques.
- Leverage referrals, leads, emerging technology, external recruiting partners and networking events to build our brand and talent pipeline.
- Screen candidates while also articulating the Hermeus mission, culture, trajectory, and company benefits as appropriate.
- Coordinate interviews and guide candidates through the process providing them with an exceptional experience from start to finish.
- Maintain and ensure accurate records in our ATS, Lever.
- Willingness to assist teammates in all endeavors to establish Hermeus as an industry leader.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of recruiting experience for highly technical roles.
- Previous time recruiting in the aerospace / defense / space sectors.
- Strong competitive market awareness - knowing the hiring landscape in the aforementioned sectors
- Experience with sourcing tools (not just LinkedIn Recruiter) and ways to innovate so that Hermeus stands out with how we attract candidates.
- Experience with Lever (ATS) is strongly preferred.
- Ability to not only recruit world-class engineers, but also be able to recruit through best in class candidate experience.
- Ability to build strong relationships with extremely passive candidates throughout the industry.
