About Assembled

Great customer support requires human agents and AI in perfect balance, and Assembled is the only unified platform that orchestrates both at scale. Companies like Canva, Etsy, and Robinhood use Assembled to coordinate their entire support operation — in-house agents, BPOs, and AI — in a single operating system. With AI Agents that resolve cases end-to-end, AI Copilot for agent assistance, and AI-powered workforce management that optimizes both human and AI capacity, Assembled helps teams deliver faster, better service while making smarter decisions about how to staff and automate. Backed by $71M from NEA, Emergence Capital, and Stripe, we're building the platform that makes AI and human collaboration actually work.

The role

Recruiting is one of the highest-leverage functions at Assembled. The talent we bring on will define whether we win our category, and recruiting is at the center of that.

We're looking for a Technical Recruiter to own recruiting across engineering, product, and design. This isn't a high-volume req machine, you'll focus on 3 top priorities at a time, partnering directly with execs and hiring managers on the roles that matter most. You'll help define what great recruiting looks like at Assembled: strategic, high-signal, AI-forward, and built to win competitive talent. If you want to shape a recruiting function, not just fill roles, this is the job.

This is an in-person role, expected to be in our San Francisco or New York office 5 days a week.

What you'll own
  • Recruit full-cycle across EPD: drive searches across engineering, product, design, and other technical functions from intake through close.

  • Be a thought partner to hiring managers: run sharp intakes, calibrate on searches, and design interview loops that consistently surface top talent

  • Build creative, proactive sourcing strategies that go beyond the obvious channels to find and engage top passive talent

  • Run a tight process: keep searches moving with urgency, clear communication, timely feedback, and a strong candidate experience from first touch through final decision.

  • Use data to drive recruiting strategy throughout the funnel: pass-through rates, time to fill, sourcing effectiveness, offer acceptance

  • Use AI to increase recruiting leverage: apply AI across sourcing, research, outreach personalization, prep, funnel analysis, and closing.

About you
  • Full-cycle technical recruiting expert. 5+ years of experience closing technical roles for startups. You've hired across levels, from senior ICs through engineering managers and directors

  • Closer: You know what it takes to close candidates when you’re not always the most obvious choice on paper. You can sell company stage, mission, equity, scope, and pace against more established brands. You've closed candidates against companies with bigger brands, better-known products, and compensation, and you've won.

  • AI-pilled. You’re genuinely excited about how AI is changing recruiting and have already started putting it into practice in your day-to-day work.

  • High-velocity and detail-oriented: You move quickly, communicate clearly, and don’t let details drop. Candidates and hiring managers always know where things stand.

  • Data-driven operator: You’re comfortable managing searches through metrics without losing the human side of recruiting.

Our U.S. benefits
  • Generous medical, dental, and vision benefits

  • Paid company holidays, sick time, and unlimited time off

  • Monthly credits to spend on each: professional development, general wellness, Assembled customers, and commuting

  • Paid parental leave

  • Catered lunches everyday (M-F) and fully stocked kitchen

  • 401(k) plan enrollment

The estimated base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $180,000 per year. The base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Stock options are provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.

We know great candidates don’t always meet every requirement listed in a job description. If the role excites you and you believe you can make an impact at Assembled, we encourage you to apply. We value diverse perspectives and are committed to building an inclusive workplace where everyone feels like they belong and has the opportunity to do their best work. We look forward to hearing from you!

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
