Mechanical Engineering Intern supporting structural design and integration of hydraulic, fuel, propulsion, avionics, and structural systems for supersonic aircraft. Responsibilities include hand calculations, FEA, structural and thermal analysis, subsystem trade studies, hardware development, fabrication, integration, testing, and technical presentations. The intern will collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, test, suppliers, and customers.

Supports the design, development, manufacturing coordination, setup, testing, and documentation of propulsion components and systems. Creates and releases engineering drawings, collaborates with engineers, manufacturers, and vendors, and assists with propulsion test rigs and hardware development activities.

Support integration, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of mission hardware and software, including avionics, sensors, radios, processors, communications, and command-and-control systems. Supports the design, manufacturing, integration, and testing of flight and test hardware for the Mk 2.3 airframe. Responsibilities include CAD modeling, material selection, design for manufacturing, production transition, tooling and build-process development, structural validation testing, project execution, and cross-functional vehicle integration.

Develop performant Julia-based 6DOF Software-in-the-Loop simulation code for aerospace systems. Build scalable Monte Carlo simulations and physics-informed models, collaborate with flight software, HMI, and flight sciences teams, validate models against real flight data, optimize real-time performance, participate in testing and code reviews, and document modeling assumptions and validation workflows.

Supports development of flight-critical propulsion components such as valves, actuators, and fluid-control hardware from clean-sheet design through production. Responsibilities include engineering trade studies, analysis, integration, build-test-iterate cycles, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, qualification, reliability and safety evaluation, and transition to production-ready designs. The intern collaborates with propulsion and vehicle teams in hands-on, fast-paced build and test environments.

Supports direct-materials purchasing, supplier gap analysis, approved supplier list development, supply chain SOP documentation, standard parts inventory planning, supplier audit and business review frameworks, and production-readiness process improvements. Collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to align sourcing strategies with vehicle production goals.

Supports the design, manufacture, operation, and maintenance of test assets for supersonic vehicle subsystems. Responsibilities include designing fixtures and tooling, creating CAD models and drawings, developing test plans, performing engineering analysis, troubleshooting fluid, mechanical, and electrical systems, collecting test data, documenting results, and collaborating with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve testing capabilities.

Own the monthly and quarterly close, consolidated financial reporting, technical accounting, cost accounting, inventory valuation, and standard costing. Research US GAAP positions, support audits and internal controls, improve accounting processes through automation, and provide analyses for company-wide decisions. The role partners with the Controller, FP&A, Operations, and external auditors in a fast-paced manufacturing startup environment.
