This Senior Staff Client Platform Engineer role is a high-impact technical leadership position dedicated to architecting the NVIDIA’s next-generation client platforms. You will move beyond traditional management to build scalable, automated, agentic ecosystems that define the future of global endpoint infrastructure. In this role, you will set the vision for platform service delivery, lead multi-functional initiatives, and drive measurable improvements in reliability, security, and developer productivity through advanced software engineering practices.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Apply deep codified principles to ensure repeatable, auditable, and version-controlled changes across a global, heterogeneous client environment.

  • Set and enforce technical standards for platform automation, mentoring other engineers and driving the adoption of modern software engineering practices across IT.

  • Collaborate with Security, Networking, and Product teams to systematically improve platform reliability and the internal developer experience.

  • Serve as the primary architect for sophisticated service delivery challenges, driving root-cause analysis and long-term remediation for core platform services.

  • Influence and recommend changes to policies, standards, and architectural direction, and establish procedures that impact multiple teams or the broader organization.

What we need to see:

  • BS/MS or equivalent experience in Engineering or Computer Science

  • 12+ years of experience in Client Platform Engineering

  • Expert-level client platform engineering experience with a proven track record of managing global endpoint fleets at scale.

  • Mastery of Configuration as Code and Infrastructure as Code methodologies (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet) and Git-based CI/CD workflows.

  • Demonstrated success in building internal tooling, CLI tools, or microservices that automate complex platform operations.

  • Strong proficiency in software development (e.g., Python, Go, or Rust) applied specifically to systems engineering and platform tooling.

  • Strong communication and partner management skills, with the ability to align diverse teams around a common platform vision.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Strong experience in Windows client environment engineering, particularly in large-scale enterprise settings.

  • Familiarity with building AI models or agents to enhance platform automation and self-healing capabilities.

  • Sincere dedication to the end-user experience, with a history of using data and feedback to drive user-focused platform improvements.

  • Experience with macOS client platform engineering.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
