We are currently looking for an on-site Senior Accountant with strong technical accounting expertise and a highly analytical, systems-savvy mindset to join our team in Santa Ana, CA. This role is responsible for core accounting functions including account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, audit support, and preparation of financial reports. However, this position goes beyond the traditional monthly close and financial statement preparation. We’re looking for someone who uses data to tell a story, proactively analyzes trends and variances, and identifies opportunities to improve processes and reporting efficiency. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, asks “why” behind processes, and is motivated to bring forward new ideas and better ways of working rather than simply executing tasks. If this sounds like you, we would love for you to apply!

Schedule: This role requires full-time, onsite presence, Monday through Friday, at our Santa Ana, CA location.

Your Essential Duties:

  • Ensure compliance with FSSI's established accounting policies while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and controls. 
  • Demonstrate ownership of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, including intercompany transactions. 
  • Ensure accuracy of fixed asset system, including monthly recording of depreciation expense and reconciliation to general ledger. 
  • Prepare month end closing journal entries. 
  • Analyze financial results and identify trends 
  • Prepare, report, and maintain Sales Tax compliance to various states. Experience with Avalara or similar tax reporting software is a plus. 
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statement package. 
  • Work closely with department leaders to drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, building practical, easy-to-use tools that help turn data into meaningful financial insight. 
  • Provide guidance and support for accounts payable & accounts receivable functions, as needed 
  • Assist with all external audits 
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information  
  • Perform other duties as assigned  

Requirements

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. Master’s degree in accounting or MBA is a plus. 
  • Minimum 4 or more years’ work experience in accounting  
  • Manufacturing or cost accounting exposure and experience preferred. 
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes 
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g. Pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).  
  • NetSuite experience preferred.  
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate with all levels of management. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow tasks through to completion 
  • Curious mindset with a desire to understand the "why” behind the numbers. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000
