Role Summary:

Sonatus is looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our Vehicle Applications team in Sunnyvale, CA. In this role, you’ll design and build high-performance, data-driven applications that run on edge computing platforms inside vehicles. You’ll collaborate across teams to deliver robust software solutions that drive the future of connected and software-defined vehicles. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge automotive technology in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop robust, high-performance data applications for edge computing systems in vehicles.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable C++ code.
  • Implement and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.
  • Debug, diagnose, and resolve complex issues.
  • Collaborate closely with other developers, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams of our customers and partners throughout the development lifecycle.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production-grade software systems.
  • Proficiency in modern C++ (C++11 or newer), with strong knowledge of multi-threading and concurrent programming.
  • Solid foundation in operating systemsdata structures, and algorithms.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Python and shell scripting for automation or tooling.
  • Experience with software development on Linux platforms.
  • Familiarity with build systems such as CMakeBazel, or equivalents.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Motivated by delivering high-quality software and validating it in a real-world automotive environment.
Desired Skill Sets:
  • Experience with automotive software development on Linux or Android platforms.
  • Understanding of automotive communication protocols like CANEthernetMQTT, and TCP/IP.
  • Prior exposure to edge computingconnected vehicle platforms, or real-time systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.

The posted salary range is a general guideline and represents a good faith estimate of what Sonatus ("Company") could reasonably expect to pay for a base salary for this position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs. The Company reserves the right to modify this range in the future, as needed, as market conditions change.
