Meet the team

Cisco's Engineering Talent Acquisition team is hiring a Principal Recruiter to build the teams behind the AI era, from the custom silicon that moves the world's data to the AI software and platforms built on top of it!

AI doesn't run on hype. It runs on silicon, systems, and software working together, and our team sits right at that intersection. We partner with leaders in Cisco's Hardware & ASIC engineering and AI Software & Platform organizations to hire the engineers and product leaders shaping what comes next. One week the search is for silicon design and verification talent; the next, it's a machine learning engineer or distributed systems engineer. Every hire directly shapes products that power AI infrastructure for some of the world's largest networks!

We are a passionate team of Talent Advisors. We believe in constant self-betterment, force-multiplication across our organization, using data to make decisions and advise our businesses, and delivering a world-class experience for every candidate. • Engaging top engineers through credible, in-depth conversations about the technology, from silicon design to AI infrastructure.
  • Turning funnel and pipeline data into clear insights for audiences from recruiters to VP and SLT leaders, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews.
  • Advising senior business leaders on talent strategy through staff meetings, workforce and site planning, and roadmap discussions.
  • Mentoring recruiters, coaching hiring managers through tough searches, and championing new tools and process improvements across regional and global TA.

Minimum qualifications:
  • 12+ years of technical recruiting experience (full-cycle preferred).
  • Prior experience hiring for Hardware or ASIC engineering in high tech
  • 2+ years of experience working in a regulated industry or government contractor.

  • Thorough understanding of EEO laws and immigration in a recruiting landscape.
  • Influencing business leaders to adopt new or alternative talent acquisition practices.
  • Using data to spot trends and roadblocks, and presenting insights to VP- and SLT-level audiences.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
