DroneSense is looking for a Senior QA Engineer to help us test our drone software platform to ensure we push out the highest quality releases for first responders. While the majority of the role will focus on manual testing effort for our web products, we are also striving to move our test automation forward. We are growing rapidly as more firefighters and first responders use DroneSense to save lives; we need your help to scale and grow.
What would I be doing?
- Working in a team to plan, test and certify our software for release.
- Create and maintain test cases and plans for our releases
- Think critically about the user experience and ensure our testing approach embodies it
- Perform manual end-to-end testing across frontend, backend, and integration points
- Write detailed defect tickets with relevant information to reproduce
- Validate implementation matches expected design and technical specifications
- Develop and maintain automated tests for both UI and API
- Be an advocate for quality throughout the engineering team
Would I be a good match for this position?
- You enjoy exploring new functionality to find potential bugs and edge cases, while assessing risk in changes to ensure the highest possible test coverage. Overall you are a troubleshooter - you don’t just say it doesn’t work - you find out why it doesn’t work.
- 5+ years experience manually testing web-based or mobile software in an agile environment
- Experience dealing with and accounting for varying levels of performance and networking in testing
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- Experience using test case management tools such as TestRail
- Experience with API level testing and familiarity with API testing tools and automation
- Strong understanding of HTTP protocols, headers, status codes, and payload validation
- Experience writing automated tests and scripting using Selenium and Nightwatch.js
- Ability to switch gears between focus areas depending on testing needs
