The Senior QA Engineer for Salesforce Sales Cloud is responsible for ensuring the quality and stability of Salesforce applications, integrations, and customizations. This role requires deep knowledge of Salesforce clouds, data models, and automation frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end QA for Salesforce CPQ covering the full Quote-to-Cash lifecycle
- Perform functional, regression, API, and end‑to‑end testing across Salesforce environments.
- Design and execute test strategies for Salesforce features, including custom objects, Apex classes, Lightning components, and integrations.
- Validate data flows between Salesforce and external systems including NetSuite, Dell Boomi, and Varicent.
- Design, build, and maintain automated regression, sanity, and smoke test suites using ACCELQ; expand automation coverage independently without waiting for direction.
- Leverage AI tools — Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and Slackbot AI — for test case generation, test plan creation, test data preparation, defect summarization, and root cause analysis.
- Work closely with Salesforce developers, admins, and product owners to understand business requirements; ask the right questions during grooming to surface ambiguities and risks before development begins.
- Participate actively in sprint ceremonies — grooming, planning, retrospectives — contributing quality perspective, challenging incomplete requirements, and ensuring testability is considered from the start.
- Troubleshoot defects, perform root‑cause analysis, and ensure timely resolution.
- Support UAT cycles, guide business testers, and ensure compliance with Salesforce best practices and release management processes.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of QA experience, with 3+ years focused on Salesforce CPQ.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce Sales Cloud and CPQ, including the full Lead-to-Cash process: Lead, Opportunity, Quote, Order, Contract, Billing, and Revenue Recognition.
- Experience testing Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and Process Builder.
- Hands-on experience with ACCELQ (strongly preferred) or comparable Salesforce automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Provar.
- Strong knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs and tools like Postman.
- Proficiency in SOQL/SOSL for data validation.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Preferred / Good‑to‑Have Skills
- Hands-on experience with ACCELQ (strongly preferred); familiarity with its Salesforce-specific automation capabilities, test data management, and execution dashboards.
- Experience with Salesforce Billing and Revenue Cloud, given the team roadmap.
- API testing experience using Bruno or equivalent tools such as Postman.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Scale Center for performance analysis and understanding of middleware platforms (MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica Cloud).
- Experience working across a broader business application ecosystem: NetSuite ERP, SAP SuccessFactors, Varicent.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce deployments.
- Salesforce CPQ Specialist, Administrator, or Platform App Builder certification.
- Ability to translate business requirements into testable user stories; self-starter who ramps on new modules independently.
- Strong communication skills for working with admins, developers, and product owners.
- Knowledge of OAuth, SSO, and identity management in Salesforce environments.
