Better is on a mission to transform the $15 trillion mortgage industry. As a pioneer in digital mortgage innovation, we’re taking a bold step forward: opening up our proprietary technology to external clients as a SaaS solution.

We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager – SaaS Transformation to lead one of Better’s most strategically important initiatives. This role will drive the evolution of our internally-built Loan Origination System into a world-class, enterprise-grade SaaS platform that serves financial institutions, partners, and global clients.

This is more than a product role—it’s a high-impact leadership opportunity at the intersection of innovation, scale, and customer success. You’ll collaborate with top-tier engineers, designers, executives, and enterprise clients to reshape how the mortgage industry operates.

Responsibilities

  • SaaS Product Strategy: Define and drive the roadmap to transform Better’s internal Loan Origination System into a scalable, client-ready SaaS platform
  • Client Engagement: Partner directly with enterprise clients to understand needs, gather feedback, and drive successful onboarding and long-term success
  • System Redesign: Lead cross-functional teams to re-architect internal tools into secure, intuitive, high-performance software for external use
  • Customer Success Alignment: Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Training, Support, Operations) to ensure the platform delivers measurable client value
  • Program Management: Manage complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives from discovery to launch with clear milestones and cross-functional alignment
  • Technical Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Design, and Security to ensure products meet high standards for usability, scalability, and compliance
  • Market Awareness: Stay informed on industry trends, competitors, and regulatory shifts to inform product strategy and differentiation

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of product management experience, including building and scaling enterprise-grade SaaS platforms
  • Proven experience transforming homegrown systems into successful client-facing SaaS offerings
  • Familiarity with platforms like Salesforce, Blend, or other B2B fintech solutions—implementation or enhancement experience preferred
  • Strong product intuition; able to distill complex workflows into simple, user-friendly solutions
  • Demonstrated success working directly with large enterprise clients, including onboarding and post-sale engagement
  • Track record of leading large, cross-functional programs with clarity and urgency
  • Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills—able to influence without authority and drive alignment across functions
  • Strong communicator with the ability to clearly present ideas, build consensus, and motivate diverse teams
  • Technical fluency and ability to work closely with engineers and security teams
  • Analytical mindset; data-driven decision-making with experience using tools like SQL or Looker
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, dynamic environments with high ambiguity
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (MBA is a plus)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
