This role will partner closely with People Services, Finance, managers, employees, and external payroll partners to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-paced environment. This person will review payroll inputs, identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and help build efficient and scalable payroll processes as SprintRay continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities

• Review payroll and timekeeping data for accuracy, including hours worked, overtime, time off, compensation changes, deductions, and other earnings.
• Support payroll compliance across multiple U.S. states, including California wage-and-hour requirements, and coordinate with external partners when specialized guidance is needed.
• Coordinate Canadian payroll with our external payroll provider, reviewing payroll inputs and outputs, taxable benefits, deductions, vacation/PTO, adjustments, and year-end requirements.
• Partner with Sales, Finance, and People Services to manage commission payments for the sales organization and ensure approved commissions are processed accurately and on time.
• Coordinate payroll-related payments and administration for employees in other global regions through Global Partners and other external providers.
• Process payroll corrections, retroactive adjustments, overpayments/underpayments, and other payroll exceptions as needed.
• Perform payroll audits and reconciliations and partner with Finance on payroll funding, reporting, general ledger support, and month/year-end activities.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll questions and work with managers to resolve timekeeping and payroll discrepancies.
• Coordinate payroll tax notices, garnishments, state/local registrations, W-2s, and other payroll compliance and year-end activities with ADP and external partners.
• Maintain payroll documentation, calendars, controls, and procedures, and identify opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Partner closely with People Services on new hires, terminations, leaves, compensation changes, promotions, bonuses, and other employee changes affecting payroll.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of payroll experience with direct responsibility for payroll processing.
• Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting multi-state U.S. payroll; working knowledge of California payroll requirements preferred.
• Experience with hourly and salaried employees, bonuses, commissions, payroll adjustments, and off-cycle payrolls.
• Working knowledge of payroll taxes, deductions, garnishments, reconciliations, and year-end processes.
• Strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across People Services, Finance, Sales, managers, employees, and external partners.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and manage competing deadlines independently.
Preferred Qualifications
