At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a hybrid position. You’ll divide your time between working remotely from your home and an office, so you should live within commuting distance. Hybrid teams may work in-office as much as a few times a week or as little as once a month or quarter, as decided by leadership. The hiring manager can share more about what hybrid work might look like for this team.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

GoDaddy is not currently considering candidates for this role in Seattle or NYC.

GoDaddy (NYSE: GDDY), the company that empowers everyday entrepreneurs, seeks a Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting to join our Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting team. We are looking for a collaborative, detail-oriented accounting leader with strong SEC reporting experience, technical accounting judgment, and a passion for driving scalable process improvements through automation and new technologies!

This team ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of GoDaddy’s financial statements while partnering closely with Legal, Tax, FP&A, business units, external auditors, and other cross-functional partners on transactions, strategic initiatives, technical accounting matters, SOX controls, and SEC filings. The team combines technical rigor with a change-driven mindset, helping protect GoDaddy’s credibility with investors and regulators while modernizing the close-to-report process.

What you'll get to do...

  • Lead and review key components of GoDaddy’s recurring SEC reporting process, including financial statement preparation, disclosures, tie-outs, and coordination with internal partners and external auditors.
  • Research, analyze, and document technical accounting positions for significant transactions, new business initiatives, accounting standards, and other complex matters, providing practical accounting guidance to Legal, Tax, FP&A, Treasury, business units, and other team members to support timely and informed decision-making.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop team members while fostering a collaborative, open, and high-accountability team culture.

  • Maintain and enhance SOX controls and documentation related to financial reporting and technical accounting processes.

Your experience should include...

  • CPA with 8+ years of experience in SEC reporting, financial reporting, technical accounting, or external audit at a large public accounting firm, supported by a strong accounting foundation.
  • Proven ability to prepare, review, and communicate complex accounting analyses and financial reporting matters through clear, concise, well-supported technical writing.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with financial data, reporting packages, reconciliations, tie-outs, and deadline-driven reporting deliverables.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, and reviewing the work of staff, with the ability to set priorities, provide constructive feedback, develop talent, and cultivate strong team performance.
  • Sound judgment, attention to detail, and a collaborative communication style, with the ability to build trusted relationships across partners while successfully balancing recurring reporting cycles, ad hoc technical research, and strategic project work.

You might also have...

  • Hands-on technical accounting experience with complex transactions, new accounting standards, disclosure requirements, or strategic business initiatives.
  • Experience with automation, AI-enabled workflows, reporting tools, or other process-improvement initiatives that reduce manual work and improve close-to-report efficiency.
  • Experience in a Big 4 or other large public accounting firm serving public-company clients.

We encourage you to apply even if your experience or skillset doesn’t align perfectly with every requirement. We value a wide range of backgrounds and transferable skills, and we are excited to support learning and growth.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
