Redwood Credit Union is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor, who will take the lead on planning and executing audits that evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes. Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute audit programs tailored to business risks and objectives
• Conduct process walkthroughs, risk assessments, and control evaluations
• Design and perform audit testing (transactions, controls, analytics)
• Document findings and prepare clear, concise audit reports
• Partner with business leaders to develop and track remediation plans
• Serve as a liaison for external auditors and regulatory reviews
• Mentor junior auditors and contribute to department-wide initiatives
• Support reporting for Risk Oversight and Audit Committees

Minimum Qualification: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient knowledge of multiple areas of credit union or financial institution operations; and/or IIA internal audit standards and procedures; and/or AICPA public accounting audit standards and procedures commensurate with the education/experience requirements listed below.
  • Under minimal supervision, competent to work in all phases of the audit process, including consultative projects, both as a team and independently.
  • Thorough knowledge of audit work paper management systems, Microsoft Excel and Word applications and other audit or risk management systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to analyze situations, research, identify issues, and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate and prioritize a variety of activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to distinguish and manage confidential material and information.
  • Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Internal Audit Certification is highly desired.

The ideal candidate has a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or closely related field and a minimum of five years’ experience in retail financial institution operations, internal audit, and/or public accounting. CIA or CFE preferred.

Compensation: Base starting range: $97,864 to $128,941 annually commensurate with experience.
Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity. Physical Requirements:
• Ability to attend offsite conferences which may include travel by car or air.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist, turn, reach overhead, and climb stairs.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to read a computer monitor, use a computer keyboard and 10-key calculator.
• Work environment is indoors; majority of the time is spent sitting at a desk.
