Who We Are

Creative Artists Agency (CAA) is the leading entertainment and sports agency, with global expertise in filmed and live entertainment, digital media, publishing, sponsorship sales and endorsements, media finance, consumer investing, fashion, trademark licensing, and philanthropy. Distinguished by its culture of collaboration and exceptional client service, CAA’s diverse workforce identifies, innovates, and amplifies opportunities for the people and organizations that shape culture and inspire the world. The trailblazer of the agency business, CAA was the first to build a sports business, create an investment bank, launch a venture fund, found technology start-up companies, establish a philanthropic arm, build a business in China, and form a brand marketing services division, among other innovations. Named Most Valuable Sports Agency by Forbes for eight consecutive years, CAA represents more than 2,000 of the world’s top athletes in football, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, in addition to coaches, on-air broadcasters, and sports personalities, and works in the areas of broadcast rights, corporate marketing initiatives, social impact, and sports properties for sales and sponsorship opportunities.

Founded in 1975, CAA is headquartered in Los Angeles, and has offices in New York, Nashville, Memphis, Chicago, Miami, London, Munich, Geneva, Stockholm, Shanghai, and Beijing, among other locations globally.

The Department

CAA Brand Consulting is a strategy-led, full-service marketing agency with expertise in Cultural and Consumer Insights, Data and Analytics, Talent/Influencer and Property Partnership Advisory, Experiential, Social Impact, Creative Services, and Content and Digital Strategy. These integrated capabilities come together to offer solutions from planning through execution, and we pull in a collective perspective of expertise with each client brief to ensure we are tapping into diverse thinking and building strategies reflective of the marketplace and culture we work within.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Designer to conceptualize and design for our Brand Clients. We need someone who understands that great design starts with a great idea. You can interrogate a brief, find the creative opportunity, develop an ownable concept, and transform it into a world-class visual system.

A hands-on maker with exceptional 2D and 3D design skills, you command typography, composition, information design, identity systems, motion, and dimensional design — building ideas that scale across brand identities, campaigns, network and broadcast packages, live-event rebrands, sports presentation, and immersive environments.

You bring creative authorship, range, exceptional taste, technical mastery, and an obsession with craft — able to take an idea from a blank page to a fully realized brand world across sports, entertainment, media, and culture.

The concept leads. The system makes it scalable. The craft makes it unforgettable. Must be onsite in the L.A. office at least 3 days/week.

Essential Functions

  • Lead Brand Systems: Concept and execute visual identities and marketing systems across our sports, entertainment, and cultural brand portfolio.
  • Create elevated design executions with a strong foundation in logo design, information systems, dynamic composition, and visual compositing (“comping”).
  • Champion of Craft: Ensure all visual output — from motion graphics to 3D renders — meets world-class standards of aesthetic and strategic intent.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with creative directors, strategists, producers, and account leads to bring holistic brand storytelling to life.
  • Stakeholder Presentation: Present ideas with clarity and conviction to clients, leadership, and collaborators.
  • Mentorship: Elevate junior designers by modeling.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years in brand design within media, broadcast, entertainment, or cultural brands at high-level design and branding studios.
  • Ability to design multiple high-impact concepts across diverse visual styles.
  •  2D Design: Illustrator/InDesign/Figma — brand systems, identity design, typography.
  • Compositing: Photoshop — high-end comping, lighting, dimensional effects, color correction, finishing.
  • Motion + Editorial (bonus): After Effects and Premiere.
  • 3D Design: Cinema 4D/Blender (bonus): spatial design, lighting, materials, rendering.
  • Presentation: PowerPoint, Keynote, Figma, InDesign.
  • Expert in Photoshop, Illustrator, and other creative tools; Cinema 4D (or similar) is a plus.
  • Skilled in creating dimensional compositions, logo and typography treatments, and design elements that combine light, texture, and depth into cinematic frames.
  • Deep understanding of brand identity systems, typography, motion, and narrative design.
  • Strong grasp of dynamic composition, grid systems, navigation principles, and the ability to storyboard sequences.
  • Exceptional attention to color, texture, lighting, and composition.
  • Advanced Photoshop compositing, photo retouching, and image finishing — you can literally paint in light.

Preferred Skills:

  • A knockout portfolio that proves you can design at a world-class level.
  • Deep understanding of visual storytelling, motion theory, and brand identity.
  • Ability to balance speed, scale, and craft — multiple projects, no loss in quality.
  • Passion for sports, entertainment, and culture — you live in the zeitgeist and know how to translate it visually.
  • Proven leadership and team-inspiration skills.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
