The Senior Data Analyst will assess data usage, document requirements, improve data quality, and lead cross-functional projects while mentoring junior analysts. Responsibilities also include data mining, creating visualizations, and supporting systems through debugging and testing.
Position Overview-
At ShyftLabs, we are looking for a Data Analyst to determine and document data usage, data gaps, and master data categories from source using various technologies and methods such as process and data mining.

Job Responsibilities-
- Build new functionality and visualizations through different coding languages and tools (such as SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Celonis)
- Document conversations with business partners and identify requirements for future development requests.
- Execute thorough testing through test cases developed for local, end to end and integration testing
- Assist in the documentation of functionality and technical operation of code in enterprise repositories
- Conduct functional demos to business and technology stakeholders
- Understand company's infrastructure, cloud, databases, network, systems, security etc.
- Support platforms and functionality through debugging methodologies and develop solutions to support
- Participates in the design and implementation of business functionalities
- Participates in defining coding standards and best practices
- Determines data usage and assists with documentation across source systems
- Identifies master data categories and creates enterprise golden record of data for federation.
- Performs metadata collection and derives data lineage from source to target.
- Improves data quality through technical and business data stewardship programs
- Works closely with business data owners and technical data stewards to curate data sets and products
- Performs data mining exercises and analysis to inform business process efficiency opportunity and data gaps
- Document and understand dataflows and business process flows
- Train business partners in data cataloging, master data, workflows, and application usage
- Leads cross-functional team meetings, documenting action items and next steps
- Partners with and mentors Data Analyst I, II, III
- Leads major project initiatives
- Performs code reviews and provides constructive feedback on best practices
- Create and implement coding standards and best practices
- Drives root cause analysis during critical support incidents
- Keep up to date with new features and releases that could be leveraged to drive better performance, security, and/or functionality for current, proposed, or future workloads.
Basic Qualifications-
- Bachelor’s degree, and/or equivalent experience, in related technology, computer science, development, or related field required.
