Brightside Health delivers life-saving virtual mental healthcare to everyone who needs it. We are powered by proprietary AI, purpose-built technology, a world-class clinician network, and a care model that rivals the best of in-person treatment. When combined with precision psychiatry and leading-edge therapeutic techniques, we’re able to improve outcomes for those with mild-to-severe clinical depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. Our innovative approach has earned recognition from leading publications such as Healthline, Fortune, and Forbes, naming us 'Most Comprehensive,' and 'Best Online Therapy for Anxiety and Depression.'

We take an action-oriented, purposeful approach with everything we do and seek out team members who value collaboration and thoughtful prioritization. As a result, our organization is looking for the brightest and most innovative talent in the industry. We can promise you that, as a member of the Brightside team, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate alongside smart and driven people while growing your professional skills.

Brightside is looking for a versatile Senior Data Analyst to join our Data Analytics team and embed with our Network product and operations teams. The provider network is the backbone of our care model, and this role sits at the center of it. Your work will shape the clinician experience and, through it, the quality and accessibility of care our patients receive. You'll report to the Senior Director of Analytics and work most closely with the central Network product team.

Think of this as the analytical engine behind a healthy, balanced network. You'll help us anticipate where patient need is heading and make sure we have the right clinicians in the right places to meet it. That means understanding the full clinician lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through retention, and connecting it to the things that matter most to patients: quality of care, strong therapeutic relationships, and a smooth path to getting scheduled. Along the way, you'll work with Product and Engineering to test new ideas and measure what actually moves the needle.

You'll be a trusted thought partner to leaders across Network, Clinical, and Product, turning messy, multi-source data into clear direction on where to invest next. You'll also help shape how our team works, contributing to a modern data foundation where governed metrics and AI-assisted analysis make good decisions faster for everyone.

The best fit is someone who pairs deep technical craft with sound business judgment, who is energized by ambiguity, and who can explain a complex analysis in a way that gets people to act.

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Build and maintain the forecast model for network capacity vs. patient demand across all 50 state markets and multiple clinical care programs, and use it to guide where and when we invest in supply
  • Partner with Network Ops and Clinical Talent to deliver measurement and insights that support clinician recruitment and onboarding and strengthen retention
  • Develop frameworks to measure the impact of clinical quality, therapeutic alliance, and patient panel balance at both the clinician and market level
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to design and run experiments on patient scheduling experiences and clinician-facing product features
  • Serve as the primary analytics partner for the Network POD, explaining the drivers behind changes in performance metrics, tying them to OKRs, clinical, and financial outcomes, and presenting insights and experiment results to leadership
  • Join a Data team building AI-powered analytics infrastructure that governs metric reliability and unlocks deeper analysis, including developing and documenting the data models behind KPI reporting and agentic analytics
  • Solve ambiguous problems creatively with systematic, scalable solutions

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of analytics experience, with a Master's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Expert-level SQL and data modeling in a cloud data warehouse (ex: BigQuery/GCP), with a track record of writing clean, performant, well-documented code
  • Hands-on experience developing and scaling a dbt project, including testing, documentation, and governed metric definitions
  • Strong forecasting and econometric modeling skills, ideally paired with operations research methods (capacity planning, supply-demand optimization, resource allocation)
  • Experience designing, running, and interpreting A/B tests and other experiments, including knowing when a clean experiment isn't possible and what to do instead
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (ex: Tableau) to build dashboards and tell clear stories with data
  • Fluency with AI tools and MCPs, and a habit of using them to accelerate everything from data exploration to insight generation
  • Ability to turn complex analyses into clear business recommendations, with excellent written and verbal communication for audiences ranging from engineers to executives
  • A self-starter mindset: you're comfortable with ambiguity, set your own priorities, and thrive in a fast-moving startup environment
Preferred:
  • Experience in the healthcare industry
  • Experience in an interdisciplinary/cross-functional field
  • Startup experience
Benefits:
  • A competitive salary
  • Stock options/equity
  • Fully paid for comprehensive health care (medical, dental, vision)
  • Pet Insurance
  • Life Insurance & Short / Long Term Disability
  • 401k Plan
  • Unlimited PTO and sick leave
  • Parental Leave
  • 100% Remote work
  • Additional memberships and perks

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise. If you have questions on compensation bands, please ask your recruiter.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
