About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Community Engagement Manager, Experiences to build and lead our host community strategy across North America and Latin America. In this role, you'll design and scale programs that connect and empower hosts, own end-to-end execution of community events, and act as the primary link between our central community function and the regions you support. This is a highly autonomous role suited to a strategic, relationship-driven operator who's comfortable owning a region independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary connector between the central community team and your assigned host community territory, coordinating cross-functional priorities and reporting on community health
  • Lead community support, growth, and engagement strategy across North America and Latin America
  • Manage and support a network of volunteer (non-employee) community leaders, including coaching and, when needed, replacing underperforming leaders
  • Drive initiatives from concept to completion, including project planning, budget management, stakeholder coordination, and risk mitigation
  • Own end-to-end execution of community events (roughly 25-80 attendees), from planning through post-event analysis
  • Design content and engagement strategies that foster host connection and conversation
  • Translate business priorities into on-the-ground regional initiatives and pilots
  • Develop deep regional market knowledge and serve as the go-to source on local community trends and needs
  • Educate community leaders on relevant product changes and relay field feedback to internal stakeholders

Qualifications

Required:

  • 6–8+ years of demonstrated experience managing community programs, community events, online engagement, or distributed communities
  • Business-fluent Spanish, both spoken and written - required for regular presenting, writing, and translating in support of the Latin America portion of this role
  • Proven experience managing both online/distributed and offline/in-person communities, including managing non-employee volunteer leaders
  • End-to-end event production experience, including planning, on-the-ground logistics, and post-event analysis
  • Highly autonomous and self-directed, with the ability to build processes from scratch or execute against existing playbooks
  • Strategic thinker able to translate business priorities into on-the-ground initiatives, not just execute a static playbook
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus-building
  • Willingness to travel internationally to Latin America periodically (estimated 1–2 times over the course of the contract)

Preferred:

  • Comfort using AI tools for post-event and community engagement analysis
  • Location in New York City or the East Coast (for team time-zone alignment); candidates in other U.S. time zones are still encouraged to apply
  • Prior experience in travel/hospitality or startup-tech community management (not required - candidates from a range of industries and company types are welcome)
  • Familiarity with online community platforms, Salesforce, Google Suite, and event management/analytical tools
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action and growth

Key Details

  • Start Date: November 16, 2026
  • Duration: Through approximately June 30, 2027
  • Location: Remote (U.S.); NYC/East Coast preferred but not required
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week
  • Pay Rate: $75 - $89/hour + benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k)
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Engagement: W2 Contract role through Maleda Tech.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
