LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Senior Associate, Monitoring & Reporting

The Senior Associate, Monitoring & Reporting is a key contributor within the Games Delivery team, reporting to the Games Data and Analysis Director and working in close partnership with the Readiness and C3 (Communications, Command and Coordination) Leads. This role is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of the reporting and monitoring ecosystem that will enable effective decision-making and operational awareness across the entire organization in the lead up to and during the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.  

The Senior Associate will consolidate the information requirements from all 50+ LA28 functional areas and LA28 Leadership to ensure the entire organization maintains operational clarity. This role will support the technical integration of various systems to create the data model and visualizations required for seamless Games-time operations. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and collaborative problem-solver with a passion for data and a talent for translating diverse business needs into clear, actionable reporting. Building trusted relationships across functional teams will be central to success in this role, ensuring that the reporting solutions developed are robust, user-friendly, fit-for-purpose and adaptable. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the consolidation and documentation of information requirements across all 50+ functional areas and Leadership, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of operational needs for Games-time reporting. 
  • Support the project management, development and implementation of a holistic Games-time reporting strategy, including the data models, system integrations, and visualization tools needed to deliver a common operational picture. 
  • Serve as a key liaison between functional areas, Technology and the central Games Delivery teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications for reports and dashboards. 
  • Assist in designing, building, and maintaining the data architecture and visualizations needed to provide insightful data products that support operational oversight and decision-making. 
  • Contribute to the establishment of reporting frameworks, standards, and processes to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and timeliness. 
  • Play a supporting role in the continuous testing and refinement of reporting systems and tools to ensure they are resilient and reliable under the high-pressure conditions of the Games. 
  • Enhance data quality and consistent reporting methodologies across the organization to foster a data-driven culture. 
  • Provide ongoing support and training to functional area users to drive adoption and effective use of reporting tools. 
  • Support the collection and transfer of planning and operational data to the Olympic and Paralympic Movement. 
Background & Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in a role focused on business analysis, data analysis, reporting, project management or a related field. 
  • Demonstrated experience in gathering, documenting, and consolidating requirements from a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to work with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), data analysis languages (e.g. SQL, Python) and familiarity with various databases and data engineering tools (e.g. Azure, dbt, Snowflake).
  • Experience supporting large-scale, multi-stakeholder programs or major events is strongly preferred. 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions  

  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.   
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.    
  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.    
  • Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.  
  • Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to identify reporting gaps, user needs, and opportunities for improvement. 
  • Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment. 
  • A proactive and curious mindset with a passion for using data to tell stories and solve complex problems. 
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technical field (STEM) or a related field. 

The annual base salary range for this position is $73,000.00 - $98,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
