  • Own invitation strategy and attendee communications end-to-end, including creation, testing, distribution, and follow-up outreach
  • Collaborate closely with the Event Production team on logistical execution of best-in-class programs, occasionally managing production workstreams and vendor relationships directly
  • Build and maintain project plans, operational documents, and collateral materials from kickoff through closeout
  • Maintain accurate attendee and registration data across customer relationship management and registration platforms; analyze attendance trends and engagement metrics to continuously optimize event strategy
  • Track budgets, invoices, approvals, and payments with clean documentation and up-to-date budget actuals
  • Prepare hosts and speakers with clear, well-coordinated briefs to ensure differentiated, high-signal content delivery
  • Lead post-event debriefs, oversee scorecard completion, and produce clear reporting and retention documentation to capture key takeaways and return on investment
  • Contribute to annual planning with a focus on innovative formats, differentiated content, and cross-team collaboration across the broader Commercial Banking events strategy team

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on Client Engagement and Events Strategy concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5 years of experience in event or sponsorship management; background in marketing, communications, business development, or public relations , as is experience working with founders, investors, startups, or high-growth companies
  • Exceptional executive presence—consistently polished, professional, and effective with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to build trust, influence outcomes, and represent the firm in high-visibility, client-facing environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and organizational discipline
  • Strong sense of personal accountability, professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment in navigating sensitive situations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, adapt to shifting priorities, and execute under tight deadlines
  • Willingness to support off-hours execution and travel as needed (approximately 20–25%), with higher volume during peak seasons
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with hands-on experience using customer relationship management and event registration/RSVP platforms

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Prior experience in financial services or working alongside financial institutions
  • Familiarity with the Innovation Economy ecosystem, including venture capital, startups, or high-growth technology companies
  • Experience with Stova or comparable event management platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to tailor event strategies and engagement approaches to distinct client segments and industries
  • Track record of producing measurable return on investment analyses and post-event reporting that inform future programming decisions

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
