We are looking for a savvy, passionate Senior Art Director who is excited about overseeing the creative team, sustainability, and beauty! This role is hybrid, with the expectation to work in-office at least one day per week at our Venice, California headquarters and be on site for events and photo shoots in the LA area and beyond.

Responsibilities: 

Brand & Visual Direction

  • Lead and oversee brand design across all digital marketing channels, ensuring visual cohesion and alignment with OSEA’s brand identity.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain comprehensive design guidelines to ensure consistency across every consumer touchpoint.
  • Contribute high-level creative concepts and hands-on design work from ideation through final execution.
  • Review, approve, and quality-check all creative assets to uphold brand standards and design excellence.

Packaging & Visual Merchandising

  • Own the full packaging design process for existing and new product development, maintaining responsibility for final creative outputs
  • Lead visual merchandising initiatives, with a long-term plan to train and transition responsibilities to the Senior Designer.

Photoshoot Creative & Art Direction

  • Partner with the Creative Director to concept photoshoots and lead the team from creative development through on-set art direction.
  • Translate marketing briefs into compelling visual direction, including lighting, set design, composition, and narrative approach.
  • Collaborate closely with the Art Director, while also guiding external partners such as photographers, stylists, production crews, and set designers.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing, Product, and eCommerce teams to develop visual content that drives engagement, conversion, and brand affinity.
  • Provide thoughtful creative feedback on copywriting as part of an integrated brand development process.
  • Stay ahead of industry, aesthetic, and cultural trends—bringing forward fresh ideas, innovative technologies, and emerging creative approaches.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary creative team, including one in-house designer, two freelance designers, an Art Director, and a Copywriter (all reporting into this role).
  • Foster a collaborative, inspiring, and high-performing creative culture.
  • Provide clear direction, constructive feedback, and ongoing development opportunities to ensure world-class creative output.

Project Ownership

  • Lead creative projects end-to-end, from brief development and concepting to production and final delivery.
  • Ensure all creative output meets brand standards, marketing objectives, and deadlines.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in design leadership with a portfolio that demonstrates excellence in digital marketing, branding, and visual storytelling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral, written, non-verbal, intuitive, psychic et al).
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead creatives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Deep passion for design, creativity, and staying ahead of industry and cultural trends.
  • Experience and familiarity with design platforms such as Figma and Photoshop.
  • Must reside in the United States to be considered for this position.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
  • Must be excited to fall in love with our products, meditate with our team, and have fun while we create beautiful work together.

Compensation: The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000-$160,000 per year. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a few factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
