Job DescriptionVuori is seeking a Senior Art Director to join our creative team. This role will report to the Creative Director and help to manage a team that works across multiple disciplines and channels including brand, photo & video, retail, and catalog. This person will have extensive experience in the fashion and active apparel industry, leading product-driven campaigns for aspirational global brands. This role is print-focused; however, the ability to direct photography and motion work is critical for this role. Work samples of print layouts, art direction, digital and motion work will be reviewed as a requirement for this position.
What you'll get to do:
- Own the creative portion of Vuori’s Catalog from pagination through execution. Partner with Product Marketing and Editorial teams to give input into pagination, make sure catalog needs are captured on seasonal photoshoots, art direct in-studio still life, and own design of multiple catalog versions as planned by the Acquisition team.
- Concept ideas for Product Marketing needs, managing the ideation of the project through its visual execution. Must be able to prepare clear and visually stunning decks to present work to leadership prior to execution.
- Manage a team of Designers responsible for the creation of work to support the needs of Seasonal Product GTM projects.
- Review design work and partner with cross functional teams to align on an integrated approach to creative, providing leadership, inspiration, mentorship, support and direction, through the lens of the Vuori brand. Review project work for highest standards of quality, consistency, accuracy and successful completion.
- Partner with the VP Seasonal Creative and cross channel business and marketing managers to create seasonal and evergreen campaigns to support product and brand marketing initiatives.
- Keep up to date with emerging trends in fashion, design, film, art, media and technology relevant to the design team.
- Execute the creative vision for brand initiatives through art direction in a way that supports premium Vuori consumer experiences, and the brand design ethos.
- Ensure all projects are well-planned, creatively outstanding, delivered in a timely fashion and within agreed budgets.
- Work closely with the Creative Operations team to assign and delegate tasks and responsibilities across the team.
- Keep up with the latest technologies and constantly push the brand forward.
- Lead by example, managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines. Encourage excellence, ambition, and team spirit.
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience preferred.
- 10+ years leading concept, design and art direction in a branded content, agency, editorial or marketing environment working in fashion, active, and/or lifestyle category.
- 7+ years leading large creative teams across all aspects of brand campaigns and digital marketing.
- Highly proficient in multi-page layout projects, including creating print mechanical files, color matching for print, and managing vendor-proofs.
- Experience building inspiration/concept presentations, and mood boards for seasonal concepts and direction
- Ability to articulate and explain design direction, editorial mood, and creative nuances to the team and to cross functional partners.
- Substantial experience in commissioning and directing design, photography, and moving images in digital and experienced environments. Experience working with agencies and briefing on creative projects with successful alignment and execution. Examples will be requested.
- Depth of experience across all modalities of photography and videography, with a solid understanding of how to direct content creation for specific platforms
- Highly proficient in layout creation, design and typography using Adobe Creative Suite
- Highly proficient in image selection and photography workflows using Capture One, Photo Mechanic and Creative Force Studio software.
- Astute attention to detail and meticulous organizational skills.
- Ability to QC details across projects, giving feedback to the team in a timely manner.
- Experience creating seasonal concepts, providing the team with both short- and long-term vision, with nuances clarified for individual channels.
- Outstanding knowledge and expertise in all aspects of layout, typography, illustration, identity, digital production and publishing across editorial formats and platforms
- Detailed understanding of today’s media landscape and how people engage with content, with in-depth knowledge of interactive communication, processes and user-interface design for digital products
- Strong time management with ability to toggle between daily and long-term tasks, keeping workstreams moving forward simultaneously
- Proactive approach to identifying and acting on ways to improve the work, continually pushing the vision forward
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, and Acrobat

The salary range for this role is $137,300 per year - $176,610 per year. This role is bonus eligible.
