Los Angeles, CA | On-Site | Accounting/Finance

Pay Range: $75,000- $100,000 Per Year. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.

Must be a strong team player with a friendly and personable demeanor and effective communication, and able to work well within a close-knit Accounting environment.

What you'll do as a Senior Accountant:

  • Assist CFO with daily operations of the accounting department including investment management, account reconciliations and analyses, journal entries and reviewing accounting classifications, in accordance with US GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly statutory financial reporting
  • Assist in documenting internal processes/controls and developing improvements as reinsurance processes and procedures for accurate and timely analysis of financial data including written premiums, losses, and investments and reinsurance, ensuring best practices
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work efficiently and effectively with other members of the team and should be able to communicate successfully with managing general agents and reinsurance partners
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, dedicated, responsible, hard-working team player
  • Works well under pressure, accepts responsibility for own actions and follows through on commitments

Job Requirements

What we're looking for in our Senior Accountant:

  • 3 + years of Big 4 public auditing/accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in insurance preferred
  • Understanding of applicable accounting rules and regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting and experience with full cycle accounting.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent Experience in Statutory Accounting.
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills for handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Expert level of proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other financial reporting tools
