Position Overview

As a Warranty Quality Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience and contribute to various projects related to quality assurance, warranty analysis, and understanding methodology used to find root causes. This internship will provide valuable learning experience in the field of quality, electrical, and software engineering within the manufacturing industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Please note, this role is hiring for a year-round internship. If interested, this role would report to the Holly location for a minimum of 12 months, with the opportunity for extension.

• Collaborate with the Warranty Quality Engineering team on various projects, such as receiving returned product, gauging repeatability and reproducibility, and standardized testing of returns.
• Utilize your technical skills to read schematics, wiring documentation, and communication lines to various device testing.
• Support the team in conducting test studies to assess the root cause and ensure accurate data collection within the Warranty database.
• Assist in quality assurance activities, including audits and inspections, to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
• Work with Warranty Quality on timely responses to customers for closing out warranty claims.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential risks and develop appropriate countermeasures to mitigate quality issues during the production phase of returned product.

Qualifications:

• Some related experience preferred (not required)
• Some soldering experience preferred (not required)
• Understanding of basic software coding

Education / Experience

• High School Diploma
• Currently Attending a College or University, preferably pursuing a degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field.  

Special Knowledge / Skills:

• Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Professional Communication skills (written and verbal).
• Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis, preferred (not required).
• Strong technical skills, including proficiency in data management, and Pareto chart creation.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

• Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.
