Job Description:

About TJX:

TJX is a Fortune 100 global retailer powering millions of transactions each day. At TJX India in Hyderabad, you’ll join a high‑performance engineering hub transforming mission‑critical systems through automation, reliability, and modern engineering excellence. We foster a culture centered on technical mastery, autonomy, and growth—where quality and reliability engineering are treated as core engineering disciplines.

What you will discover

  • A quality‑first engineering culture that values automation, resilience, and shift‑left thinking

  • A global technology organization collaborating across the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Australia

  • Opportunities to define reliability and quality patterns that accelerate TJX modernization

  • A collaborative environment where senior engineers influence standards and elevate engineering excellence

Role:

As a Senior QA Automation, you will lead the transformation from manual testing to fully automated, shift‑left quality engineering across Store Web modernization. You will design contract‑testing frameworks, reliability gates, smoke‑test automation, and offline validation suites that ensure zero‑regression cutovers. This is a deeply technical, hands‑on role where your automation frameworks, reliability patterns, and quality governance will shape how modernization teams deliver safely and predictably.

What you will do

  • Architect API‑first contract‑testing frameworks that validate APIM routing, compatibility, and strangled services.

  • Integrate smoke, regression, and reliability tests directly into CI/CD pipelines with automated gating.

  • Design offline, reconnect, and degraded‑network scenario suits ensuring robust client and backend behavior.

  • Implement data‑integrity validation frameworks, reconciliation checks, and pre‑/post‑deployment verification.

  • Partner with developers to embed testability patterns—telemetry hooks, mocks/stubs, and fault‑injection points.

  • Define release‑readiness criteria grounded in reliability of metrics, automated validation, and service‑level health.

  • Continuously evolving automation tooling, frameworks, and quality accelerators adopted across modernization teams.

  • Drive a culture of reliability engineering through documentation, training, and cross‑team technical leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years automation engineering experience focused on API‑first or distributed systems.

  • Hands-on experience into Manual & Automation testing transforming experience

  • Expertise integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines with gating and quality enforcement.
  • Hands‑on experience building test frameworks supporting cloud‑native or modernized architectures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with consumer‑driven contract testing (CDC) frameworks.

  • Background in performance, resilience, or chaos‑testing patterns.

  • Familiarity with event‑driven validation, async workflow testing, or distributed‑state consistency checks.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
