The Legal & Policy Team is Snap’s dedicated in-house law firm, policy consultant, lobbyist, thought partner, and all-around advisor. This team helps Snap do the right thing the right way, make better decisions, understand and handle risks, and creatively navigate challenges, both external and internal. We partner with Snap team members on a wide array of matters, including privacy, product, IP, commercial transactions, corporate governance, employment, acquisitions, litigation, and policy, and social impact. Legal Operations is a growing team at Snap with a mission to build, manage, and maintain the processes and technology that make our Department run. The Legal Operations team responsibilities include: vendor management & legal spend, contracts management, knowledge management, and special projects - always with the goal of increasing overall operational efficiency. Working cross functionally with teams across Snap, we help deliver enterprise solutions and processes driven by the Legal and Policy teams. We are looking for a Legal Operations Program Manager to focus on all things financial planning and vendor management.
What you’ll do:
Partner with our finance team partners to plan legal spend by designing forecasting models and budgets that achieve predictability and cost saving, managing accruals, and monitoring e-billing
Help our attorneys choose the right firms by performing due diligence, uncover opportunities, negotiate better rates, handle contract management, and, overall, onboard new vendors quickly
Serve as the primary contact and coordinator for legal and public policy invoice and vendor management (internally & externally)
Manage the PR/PO and monthly accruals processes
Partner to understand unique billing and financial requirements with law firm partners and legal vendors
Manage invoice process, including audits for data accuracy, adherence of billing guidelines, and financial controls
Analyze rejections/deductions, troubleshoot and resolve issues, coordinate and process revisions/adjustments
Provide routine and ad hoc analysis and reporting; proactively identify trends influencing legal spending
Facilitate training sessions on eBilling and other financial platforms
Find opportunities to improve processes, share best practices, and improve efficiency with the Legal team’s eBilling and financial processes
Support and manage various ad hoc projects within the team as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong attention to detail; conscientious attitude, and commitment to quality and accuracy
Strong client service orientation; solutions oriented
Possess deep understanding of AP principles and ensuring compliance with legal billing guidelines
Advanced Excel skills (i.e. creating and manipulating pivot tables, formulas, formatting)
The ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders including AP, Procurement, Accounting, and other operational teams
A team player attitude; can easily handle multi-tasking between shifting priorities
A passion for delivering excellent customer service
Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects under pressing deadlines
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Minimum Qualifications:
BA/BS preferred; or equivalent experience
6+ years experience in the areas of accounts payable or accounting
Experience working in eBilling and financial platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
4+ years’ experience at a law firm, in-house legal department, or legal services company
Experience in SimpleLegal and Oracle
