Job Summary & Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role owns execution on the strategic initiatives and projects most critical to the business. The focus is not on building program management infrastructure or managing a team of PMs. Instead, the Program Manager will take strategic priorities from concept to completion, working across the organization (Finance, Support, Enterprise, Partnerships, Product, and Operations) to improve how the business runs.

This role sits outside of, though closely adjacent to, our Product and Engineering organizations. The focus is on the operational and business side of the company, not product delivery. The Program Manager will partner closely with the Vice President, Operations, owning the operational follow-through on initiatives and projects.

KEY/SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own end-to-end execution of cross-functional strategic initiatives, for example (standardizing a handoff process between two teams, consolidating reporting across departments, redesigning a partner launch plan)
  • Drive projects across Finance, Support, Enterprise, Partnerships, and Operations, building alignment among stakeholders who do not report to this role
  • Build and maintain lightweight systems (trackers, automation, status reporting) that keep initiatives visible and on track, primarily through Asana
  • Own new product commercialization rollouts in coordination with Global Partner and Product teams
  • Translate high-level strategic goals into concrete project plans, milestones, and owners
  • Proactively surface risks, blockers, and decisions needed rather than waiting to be asked
  • Support the Vice President, Operations directly on prioritization, follow-up, and prep for key initiatives, roughly (10 to 20 percent) of the role, with the remainder focused on initiative ownership

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/ COMPETENCIES:

  • 4 to 7+ years in program or project management or business operations, ideally in healthcare software, SaaS, or a related industry
  • A track record of driving cross-functional projects to completion without direct authority over the people involved
  • Sharp eye for inefficiency, with the ability to diagnose the root cause and design a workable fix
  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills
  • Sharp written and verbal communication, with the ability to distill complexity for executives and coordinate detail with individual contributors
  • Deep, hands-on experience with Asana, including building trackers, dashboards, and reporting workflows
  • Comfort operating with evolving priorities and scope that shifts as the business needs change
  • Discretion and trust, given visibility into sensitive, high-priority work

EDUCATION (Required/Preferred):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

TRAVEL:

  • Approximately 5%

Total Compensation: $150,000 - $160,000 USD, inclusive of bonus.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
