- Draw up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders
- Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements
- Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times
- Plan sequence of fabrication and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers
- Confer with supervisors to determine status of assigned projects; expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
- Prepare production reports
- Prepare purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment
- Any other tasks assigned by supervisor or management
- Experience: 5+ years’ experience in scheduling, supply chain or fulfillment
- Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of manufacturing, production planning and materials control functions; Strong understanding of Kanban Systems, JIT, POU, FIFO, Level loading, with a manufacturing process understanding preferred
- Skills/Abilities: Expert in using scheduling and capacity planning tools experience with Oracle; Significant experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access; Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, good communication and interpersonal skills
- Education/Certification: BS degree required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing strongly preferred
- Experience with Oracle (11i preferred)
- Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
- Ability to lift objects up to 25 lbs.
- Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary
- Standing: 90%, Sitting: 10%, Lifting (in pounds): up to 25 pounds, Pushing (in pounds): up to 50 pounds Mental/Visual: Use of microscope and computer. Workspace (line, cube, etc): clean bench
