This position requires two in-office days per week for candidates who reside within 50 miles of Columbus, OH; Seattle, WA; Boston, MA; Portsmouth, NH; Indianapolis, IN; or Plano, TX.
The role
Own the vision, roadmap and backlog for Connected Insights. This new product uses data and artificial intelligence (AI) to deliver personalized insights and next-best actions where agents and employees already work.
Description
An exciting opportunity to shape the future of how we deliver AI-enabled insights, putting the right information in front of the right person at the right time.
Connected Insights supports our Digital Frontline Influence (DFI) strategy in Independent Agent (IA) Distribution, starting with retention. It brings together data, insights and shared capabilities, including a shared AI orchestration layer, to help agents, Territory Managers, service teams and other employees take the right action at the right time. We build once and deliver across many experiences. The product will support outcomes such as growth, retention, cross-sell, digital adoption and efficiency.
This is a highly visible role. Your work powers our Distribution strategy to become #1 in the independent agent channel and the Champion of the Independent Agent, with ease of use and agent satisfaction as two of the biggest drivers.
You'll build the roadmap and backlog from the ground up. You'll prioritize the highest-value use cases and help create a scalable foundation that supports multiple experiences across the agent portal, Salesforce and employee tools.
In this role, you will
  • Own the Connected Insights vision, roadmap, backlog and priorities.
  • Turn business strategy, user research and data into measurable product outcomes.
  • Prioritize use cases based on user value, business value, effort and reuse across experiences.
  • Shape personalized insights and actions across agent and employee tools.
  • Partner with business strategy leaders, Product, Distribution, Marketing, Data Science, UX and Technology from concept through delivery to bring connected experiences to life.
  • Use experimentation, A/B testing, research and product data to learn what works and decide what to scale.
  • Make clear trade-offs when priorities compete and keep partners aligned on outcomes.
  • Define success measures and communicate progress, decisions, risks and trade-offs to leaders.

Ideal candidate
We're looking for someone who:
  • Has experience owning a digital product, ideally involving data, AI or personalization.
  • Thrives at the intersection of technology, innovation, product management and strategy.
  • Has strong product instincts and can simplify complex work for users.
  • Thinks strategically and can turn ambiguity into a focused roadmap and executable backlog.
  • Has experience using data science, experimentation and user research to shape digital experiences.
  • Understands headless, API-first design: building a capability once and delivering it through many experiences.
  • Can partner effectively with engineering, architecture, data science and business teams.
  • Builds trust with frontline stakeholders and influences senior leaders without direct authority.
  • Communicates complex ideas clearly, tells a compelling story and creates alignment around product direction.
  • Is curious, tenacious and comfortable leading through ambiguity in a large organization.
  • Nice to have: Experience in insurance, independent agency distribution, Salesforce, agent portals, marketing technology or customer and employee platforms.

Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of Agile development methodologies as typically acquired through a Bachelors' degree in relevant field (business, computer science, humanities etc.), 7 years in business, technology, or consulting with 5 to 7 years direct experience with agile teams
  • Master's degree preferred
  • High level of proven business expertise needed to set clear priorities for product and understand business value impacts
  • Develops strong stakeholder relationships and influencing across multiple organizational boundaries
  • Demonstrated experience leading varied audiences through the development of complex ideas, issues and designs
  • Ability to lead varied audiences through census building
  • Proven experience with Agile practices and expectations
  • Comfortable with making decisions with some level of uncertainty
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of insurance industry preferred
  • Knowledge of relevant products and portfolio strongly preferred
  • Strong experimental mindset to drive innovation amongst uncertainty and exploit market opportunities

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
