Independently manage moderately complex civil litigation (up to ~$50k exposure) from pleadings through trial. Develop legal strategies, lead discovery and settlement negotiations, use e-discovery and case management tools, advise claims teams, mentor junior attorneys, and ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.

Manage moderately complex civil litigation (up to ~$50k exposure) for an insurer: conduct research, draft pleadings and motions, lead discovery and settlement negotiations, represent at hearings/trials/mediations, use e-discovery and case management tools, advise claims clients, mentor junior attorneys, and improve processes for efficiency and compliance.

Lead underwriting for complex construction-focused inland marine accounts (builders risk, installation, contractors' equipment, project cargo). Evaluate exposures, structure coverage and pricing, manage broker/client relationships, monitor portfolio performance and accumulation, collaborate cross-functionally, drive underwriting improvements, and mentor underwriters to grow profitable business.

Process routine workers' compensation claims, investigate and verify claim information, provide ongoing medical case management, authorize medical payments, maintain electronic claim records, coordinate exams and referrals, and identify subrogation opportunities while delivering timely customer service.

Handle workers' compensation and related commercial casualty claims: investigate first reports, evaluate compensability and liability, estimate loss costs, negotiate settlements within limits, maintain files, and follow loss management protocols. Participate in comprehensive training and ongoing mentoring.

Lead and mentor risk control consultants while performing complex commercial auto surveys for high-premium accounts. Partner with underwriting to provide consultative services, develop training curriculum, apply AI and data analytics, monitor industry trends (telematics, micromobility, autonomous vehicles), and deliver driver coaching and fleet management resources. Serve as subject-matter leader to improve technical quality and support business development.

Underwrite and manage complex construction-focused inland marine accounts (builders risk, installation, contractors' equipment, project cargo). Use technical judgment and data to select profitable business, set coverage/terms/pricing, manage portfolio performance, build broker/client relationships, collaborate cross-functionally, and mentor underwriters to strengthen inland marine capabilities.

Evaluate and recommend underwriting decisions for a portfolio of brokers/agents, build internal and external relationships, develop underwriting skills, support marketing and team projects, and contribute to portfolio analysis and data quality.

Lead a wholesale-focused underwriting team for D&O, Employment Practices, and Fiduciary Liability across the Western US. Underwrite new and renewal business, analyze applications and financials, negotiate policy terms, cultivate wholesale broker relationships in CA, drive growth and profitability, and support marketing, reporting, and product initiatives.

Manage moderately complex civil litigation (up to ~$500K exposure), draft complex dispositive and discovery motions, perform advanced legal research, develop litigation strategy, use e-discovery and case management tools, lead settlement negotiations and hearings, mentor junior attorneys, advise clients/claims, and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Conduct on-site and desktop risk engineering surveys for conventional and renewable power generation and construction projects. Produce actionable risk assessments, advise underwriters and claims teams, identify loss drivers, recommend mitigations, support claims analysis, maintain account ownership, and contribute to business development and portfolio risk improvement.

Lead and mentor risk control consultants on complex, high-premium commercial auto surveys; partner with underwriting, develop training and curriculum, apply AI and data analytics, deliver driver coaching and fleet management, and drive improvements in commercial auto risk control practices.
