Job Description

The Product Marketing Manager is a strategic storyteller with strong analytical skills and a bias for action. You own how Wiser positions and talks about our products, and you build our product-led growth motion from the ground up — turning product capabilities into messaging, trials, and onboarding experiences that get users to value fast. You partner closely with Sales, Demand Gen, and Product, and you move quickly: testing, measuring, and improving constantly.

Essential Functions:

  • Own product marketing across Wiser's products — positioning, messaging, launches, and competitive intelligence. Be responsible for how we tell our story and make sure every team is equipped to tell it the same way.
  • Build our product-led growth (PLG) motion from the ground up. Take us from early product-led experiments to a full trial program. Map the customer journey across our three core products and make the case for where to lean into self-serve.
  • Own the PLG funnel end to end. Set targets with leadership and report on them weekly: signups, activation, trial-to-paid conversion, and trial-sourced pipeline.
  • Get users to value fast. Map the moments that matter in a trial or in the product, then write the onboarding emails and in-product prompts that get people there. Your goal is to move a user from signup to adoption and then to growth, rapidly.
  • Hand hot trials to Sales. Define what a product-qualified lead looks like, set up the alerts, and make sure Account Executives can follow up fast with the right context.
  • Arm the sales team. Keep battlecards, talk tracks, and demo stories current so reps sell the product and the trial with confidence.
  • Partner with demand generation. Shape the strategy behind paid, web, and social programs so campaigns carry the right message and drive the right trials. You won't run the campaigns, but you'll be involved in the planning.
  • Test constantly. Run experiments on pages, emails, trial length, and offers. Move fast, keep what works, and keep improving.
  • Bring the product to events. Plan Wiser's trial presence at conferences, from booth demo to follow-up.
  • Be the voice of the customer. Share usage data, win/loss insights, and user feedback with Product to help shape the roadmap.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product marketing experience, ideally in B2B SaaS, owning positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy
  • Proven experience building or scaling a product-led growth (PLG) motion, including trial programs and self-serve funnels
  • Track record of owning funnel metrics end to end and reporting results to leadership; signups, activation, trial-to-paid conversion, and pipeline
  • Experience writing onboarding communications and in-product messaging that drive user activation
  • Experience partnering with Sales on enablement — battlecards, talk tracks, demo content, and lead qualification criteria
  • Experience collaborating with demand generation on campaign strategy and messaging
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as HubSpot, Mixpanel, and Zapier
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to design, run, and interpret experiments across pages, emails, and offers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; a strong storyteller who can translate product capabilities into customer value
  • A self-starter who can independently own projects and push them forward without close oversight
  • Intellectually curious, always looking for ways to improve rather than settling for what's already working
  • Experience planning or supporting event and conference presence is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree required; the degree does not need to be in a technical field

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
