About Opal Security:

The best security and engineering teams use Opal Security, the AI-native access platform, for real-time visibility, policy-as-code, and control over every identity, from employees to service accounts to AI agents. Companies like Databricks, Notion, CoreWeave, and Superhuman rely on Opal. Based in San Francisco, we've raised $59M from Greylock, Battery Ventures, and SVCI, and were named to Notable Capital's Rising in Cyber 2026 list by 150 leading CISOs. Our leadership brings deep security pedigree: CEO Howard Ting (previously CEO of Cyberhaven, CMO at Nutanix), CPO Sameer Mehta (Veza, Citrix), and CTO Alex Pien (Meta), among others who've built category-defining products.

The Role:

Governing who can access what, and revoking it the moment it's no longer needed, is one of the hardest problems in enterprise security, and it starts with people. Now AI agents are entering the same systems at machine speed, inheriting the same over-scoped access, and the problem is compounding fast. Opal is the control plane for all of it, and telling that story is what this role is about. We're hiring a Product Marketing & Content Associate to amplify Opal’s voice, using AI and automation to give one person the reach of a much larger team. About two-thirds is content and channels you'll own outright; the rest supports senior functions like PR, analyst relations, and sales enablement. You'll report into the Head of Product & Solutions Marketing, and the ideal candidate is a strong writer who is fluent with AI tools.

  • Build the AI-powered content engine, including automations and workflows

  • Own Opal's social presence end to end: daily posts, real-time engagement, and inventive campaigns (polls, bracket-style games) that make a technical category feel alive

  • Create short-form video for LinkedIn, X, and YouTube, product clips, C-suite cuts, event moments, with a creator's instinct for hooks and platform-native formats

  • Translate what's new into stories, turning product updates and launches into blogs, posts, and screen recording walkthroughs alongside PM and Engineering

  • Shape thought leadership with our marketing leadership and C-suite, ghostwriting and producing the ideas that position Opal at the front of a new category

  • Run the monthly newsletter start to finish, plus web updates and copy, including SEO/AEO

  • Drive integration and partnership announcements, webinar and CTA promotion, and event recaps

  • Support PR: contributed articles (about one per month) and pitches for launches and news moments

  • Support customer story capture (video and written) and analyst relations outreach and management

  • Help manage our podcast, newsletter sponsorships, and influencer relationships

  • Lead one-pagers, click-through demos, and other sales plays (including competitive), and support the first-call deck

FYI - we are building Opal together, in person. This role is 3+ days in office in downtown San Francisco :)

You Might Be a Fit If You:

  • Are a genuinely strong writer who can adapt voice: yours and the brand's

  • Can create short-form video that earns attention, comfortable on camera or behind it, with instinct for what works on each platform

  • Have real AI fluency: you use AI tools daily and reach for automation rather than grinding through things manually

  • Are comfortable with an always-on pace and concurrent deliverable

Tools We Use:

We're always adding to this as new AI-native tools prove themselves. Fluency with the category matters more than any one name below.

  • Design and demos: Figma, Arcade, Framer

  • Screen recording and video: Screen Studio, Descript, CapCut

  • AI and automation: Claude, Claude Code, Perplexity

  • Meetings and content ops: Granola, Notion

  • Video and podcast editing: Descript

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
