The role of a Product Manager within the niche of Manufacturing is pivotal for steering the development and execution of products that meet consumer needs and propel the company's objectives forward. This position is crucial for aligning product strategies with business goals and ensuring that the final deliverables resonate well with the target market. The Product Manager acts as the primary bridge between various departments, including marketing, sales, and development, ensuring a harmonious workflow and product coherence.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

Product Managers are primarily responsible for the full lifecycle of a product, from conception to launch. Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Defining the product vision and strategy in line with the business goals.
  • Gathering and prioritizing customer and client requirements to ensure the product meets user needs while achieving competitive advantage.
  • Working with engineering teams to deliver functional solutions promptly.
  • Regularly reviewing market trends and keeping abreast of the competitive landscape to adjust product direction accordingly.
  • Creating buy-in for the product vision with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) of the product's success and pivoting strategies when necessary.
  • Coordinating with marketing and sales teams to ensure a successful product launch and sustained promotion.
  • Tasks and Duties
  • The day-to-day tasks of a Product Manager in Manufacturing industry may vary but generally include
  • Leading roadmap discussions and planning sessions to outline product phases and release schedules.
  • Conducting user research and usability studies to better understand the customer's pain points and desires.
  • Collaborating with the design and development teams to ensure product specifications are executed to the highest standard.
  • Managing cross-functional project teams to ensure milestones are met and the product adheres to budgets and timelines.
  • Preparing and presenting progress reports and requirements documentation to key stakeholders

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree in Business or product management is highly advantageous.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Product Manager (CPM) or Agile Certified Product Manager and Product Owner (ACPMPO) are highly regarded.
  • Experience with product management tools and methodologies, including Agile frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills paired with a keen sense of market dynamics and user-experience design.
  • Proven experience in product management roles, ideally within the Manufacturing industry or similar fields.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Possess excellent knowledge of AUTOCAD. Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project
