About Forge

At Forge, we strive to foster a diverse and inclusive community. We actively recruit and champion candidates who bring new perspectives from varied professional backgrounds and experiences, and we are intentional about ensuring a positive hiring experience for everyone. Our job postings don’t contain experience inflation, and most don’t require college degrees. Elastic is a leading global B2B eCommerce solution, serving the unique business needs of world-class manufacturers and retailers around the world. We’re seeking an AI-forward Product Designer who treats AI as a core part of their design workflow, not an afterthought. As a member of the Product Team, you’ll have a direct impact on how our product evolves. You’ll report to our Director of Product and work cross-functionally with product and engineering to build smart, tailored experiences for customers across regions, languages, and devices.

You’re curious about customer problems, you iterate fast, and you use AI tools to explore more, ship faster, and raise the quality bar. You use AI thoughtfully and take full ownership of your work, so everything you deliver reflects your craft and your standards.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end UI design in Figma: user flows, high-fidelity screens, and interactive prototypes tied to product and customer needs
  • Design responsive experiences across mobile, tablet, and desktop
  • Use AI tools (e.g., Figma AI, Claude) to explore faster, generate variations, and prototype more, then refine with craft and judgment
  • Learn our business, our customers, and their buying workflows, and apply that understanding to design decisions
  • Gather feedback from end users and focus groups, and turn it into design improvements
  • Contribute to and help evolve our design system, including components and usage guidelines, so design and code stay consistent
  • Write clear design requirements and specifications, including interaction behavior, states, and edge cases, for engineering handoff
  • Partner with product and engineering from concept through launch
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and communicate design decisions clearly to audiences at every level

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and attention to detail
  • Hands-on fluency with AI design and prototyping tools, and a point of view on where they help and where they don’t
  • Ability to quickly learn a complex business and its users
  • Ability to design for a global, multilingual audience
  • Ability to work independently, drive projects without direction, and prioritize across competing demands
  • Positive attitude, with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Clear written and verbal communication

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years as a UI/UX designer, product designer, or similar role
  • Expert-level Figma skills (auto layout, components, prototyping)
  • Experience designing accessible interfaces, with working knowledge of accessibility standards
  • Experience contributing to or building a design system (component libraries, documentation)
  • A portfolio showing shipped responsive web products, ideally in eCommerce or B2B
  • Demonstrated use of AI in your design process, with examples in your portfolio or in conversation
  • Experience writing design specifications and working directly with engineers
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS, source control, and web development basics is a plus

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Target Compensation: $115,000 to $130,000

Please note that this range reflects a reasonable estimate of the target compensation for this position. This range may ultimately vary based on a candidate’s qualifications and may be higher where required by applicable law.

We offer a competitive benefits package designed to strengthen our employees’ physical and mental health, including unlimited vacation for exempt employees, flexible working locations, 401(k) plan with a company match, medical/dental/vision coverage with inclusive provisions including transgender services and fertility benefits, parental and caregiver leave, dependent, commuter and FSA benefits, professional development programs like Toastmasters, and mental wellness tools.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
