About PeoplePartners
  • At PeoplePartners, great careers and great people go hand in hand. As a Great Place to Work® certified company, we’ve built a people-first culture where talented professionals can do meaningful work, collaborate with global teams, and keep growing along the way.
  • You’ll get the opportunity to work with exciting international businesses while being part of a team that values your ideas, supports your development, and makes work feel genuinely rewarding. Global exposure, real career growth, and a culture that puts people first — that’s the PeoplePartners experience.
Role Overview
  • Great software doesn’t start with code. It starts with asking the right questions.
  • As our Product Business Analyst (Software / SaaS), you’ll join one of our amazing Australian clients and sit at the intersection of Product, Development, Testing, and Customer Experience. Your role is to turn product strategy, customer workflows, and validated initiatives into requirements that are clear, complete, testable, and ready to build.
  • Working closely with the Product & Technology Manager, you’ll get beneath the surface of workflows, business rules, system behaviour, dependencies, and edge cases — reducing those mid-sprint “Wait… what is this actually supposed to do?” moments.
  • You won’t be telling developers how to build the solution. You’ll make sure everyone understands what needs to happen, for whom, and why.
  • You’ll also bring AI-assisted tools into your day-to-day craft, using them to explore requirements and UX concepts, identify gaps, analyse workflows, and improve documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate product initiatives into clear, structured, and testable requirements.
  • Define user stories, workflows, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyse existing product behaviour and system interactions.
  • Identify requirements, dependencies, assumptions, gaps, and edge cases.
  • Map customer workflows and expected system behaviour.
  • Collaborate with developers and testers throughout software delivery.
  • Participate in backlog refinement and sprint planning.
  • Maintain traceability from product initiatives through to delivered functionality.
  • Use AI-assisted workflows for requirements analysis and documentation.
  • Own customer-facing Learn How-Tos for new and changed functionality.
  • Support go-to-market handovers and product adoption.
  • Collaborate with Product, Development, Testing, Customer Success, and Product Enablement teams.
  • Continuously improve requirements and documentation processes.

Requirements
Required Qualifications (Must-Have):
  • 3+ years of experience as a Software Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role.
  • Experience working with web-based software or SaaS products.
  • Strong requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation skills.
  • Experience defining user stories, workflows, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience working within Agile software delivery.
  • Experience collaborating directly with developers and testers.
  • Understanding of configuration-driven systems and data relationships.
  • Awareness of UX principles and user workflow design.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify assumptions, dependencies, gaps, and edge cases.
  • Interest in using AI-assisted tools and workflows to improve requirements analysis and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications: (Experience with the following tools is useful)
  • Jira
  • Confluence
  • Lucidchart
  • SQL Server Management Studio
  • Experience with comparable tools and platforms will also be considered.
Why Join PeoplePartners
  • At PeoplePartners, you’re not just stepping into another remote role — you’re building your career with a Great Place to Work® certified company that puts people at the center of the experience.
  • You’ll enjoy international exposure while working with an Australian business, with opportunities to strengthen your expertise across product analysis, SaaS delivery, customer experience, and AI-assisted ways of working.
  • You’ll also be part of a supportive, collaborative culture with career growth and learning opportunities, employee engagement activities, and the flexibility and convenience of working from home. It’s an environment where good questions are encouraged, ideas are shared, ownership matters, and continuous improvement is part of how we work.
  • If you love figuring out how software should behave, asking the questions others might miss, and turning complexity into clarity, we’d love to hear from you. Apply through PeoplePartners and show us how you think.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
