Description

The Principal Product Manager, Web turns the vastdata.com roadmap into shipped work and sets the product standards the team builds to. You will own the site's major initiatives from brief to launch: scope, backlog, acceptance criteria, and the analytics that show whether they worked.

You join VAST's Website & Digital Experience team as we finish moving the site from Contentful to Webflow. That means faster launches, a new component library, and the chance to restart testing and personalization on a modern platform. You report to the Director of Website and work daily with design, development, and our agency partners.

What you'll own

Initiative delivery

  • Turn roadmap initiatives into project plans with clear scope, milestones, and owners
  • Own the backlog for your initiatives: write business tickets, define acceptance criteria, and get tickets to Ready for Sprint
  • Make scope and tradeoff calls within your initiatives, and escalate cross-initiative conflicts to the Director of Website
  • Give final product sign-off on what ships

Experience and content structure

  • Build content maps and page briefs for new and redesigned pages
  • Recommend which components a page needs and where existing components can be reused, in partnership with the Web Experience Design Lead
  • Keep authoring templates and page guidance current so marketers can build pages in Webflow without engineering help

Measurement

  • Set the success metrics for each initiative before it launches
  • Report results after launch using GA4 and our web dashboards: traffic, engagement, form conversion
  • Plan and run A/B tests and personalization on Webflow once the migration is complete
  • Run lightweight user testing on high-traffic and high-intent pages

Intake and stakeholders

  • Triage web requests from product marketing, demand gen, events, and brand
  • Keep stakeholders informed on status, dates, and changes through Jira and Asana

Product leadership

  • Own component strategy: which components exist, where they are used, and the order they get built
  • Lead vendor and tool evaluations for the web stack, from requirements to recommendation
  • Act as the Director of Website's backup for roadmap and go or no-go decisions when they are out
  • Coach the team on the operating model: ticket lifecycle, RACI, and capacity planning
Requirements
  • 8 to 10 years in web or digital product management, including owning a B2B marketing or corporate website
  • Hands-on experience shipping in an agile team: writing tickets, acceptance criteria, and running a backlog in Jira
  • Comfort with GA4 or a similar analytics tool, enough to set success metrics and report on them yourself
  • Experience working with designers and developers, including an outside agency
  • Has led at least one CMS migration or replatform, or a major site redesign, end to end
  • Has built or run an experimentation program, not only individual tests
  • Executive presence: you can defend a roadmap tradeoff to a VP and explain a ticket to a developer

Nice to have

  • Webflow experience, or another visual CMS such as Contentful
  • A/B testing or personalization tools such as Webflow Optimize or VWO
  • B2B technology or enterprise marketing experience
  • Familiarity with SEO and AI search basics: redirects, metadata, page structure

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
