The Role

We are looking for a highly analytical and strategic Pricing Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be the analytical engine behind our monetization strategy. You will partner closely with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to optimize our pricing and packaging, drive revenue growth, and improve customer retention. We value efficiency and innovation—you will be expected to leverage modern AI tools to accelerate your data analysis, build smarter models, and translate complex insights into actionable business strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pricing & Packaging Strategy: Analyze tier structures, feature allocation, and add-on pricing to optimize value capture across customer segments.

  • Financial Modeling & Forecasting: Build quantitative models to forecast the revenue impact of price changes, promotional discounts, packaging adjustments, and plan migrations.

  • AI-Driven Insights & Automation: Leverage generative AI and predictive analytics tools to accelerate data wrangling, automate repetitive reporting workflows, and uncover deeper behavioral trends in large datasets.

  • Subscription Metrics Analysis: Track and analyze key subscription metrics—including MRR/ARR, Churn, Net Retention Rate (NRR), LTV, Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), and ARPU.

  • Experimentation & A/B Testing: Design, monitor, and evaluate monetization experiments, price sensitivity tests, and promotional strategy rollouts.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a strategic partner to Product Management and Sales Leadership to ensure pricing strategies are competitive, easily understood by customers, and operationally viable to execute.

What You’ll Need (Qualifications)
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in pricing strategy, corporate finance, revenue operations, management consulting, or data analytics—ideally within a B2B SaaS or subscription software environment.

  • Quantitative Modeling Expertise: Advanced proficiency in data modeling. You can build complex financial models, cohort analyses, and sensitivity scenarios. You can create and optimize price elasticity of demand models (PED) across products, bundles and customer segments.

  • Price Optimization: Establish dynamic pricing strategies, discount structures, and promotional calendars to maximize revenue or margin targets.

  • Technical Chops: Strong proficiency in SQL to pull, clean, and manipulate large datasets. Experience with BI/Data Visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, PowerBI) is required.

  • AI Fluency: Demonstrated ability to integrate AI assistants (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, GitHub Copilot) into your daily workflow to write/debug SQL, summarize research, or accelerate financial modeling.

  • Business Acumen: Deep understanding of subscription pricing, unit economics, and standard metrics (CAC, LTV, NRR, MRR).

  • Communication Skills: Ability to translate complex data and modeling into clear, executive-level presentations (PowerPoint/Keynote) and actionable business recommendations.

  • Execution Focus: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work autonomously, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus Points
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.

  • Experience with statistical programming (Python or R) for advanced data analysis or price elasticity modeling.

  • Familiarity with applying Machine Learning (ML) concepts to pricing challenges (e.g., predictive churn modeling, dynamic pricing algorithms, or automated segmentation).

  • Familiarity with billing and CRM systems (Salesforce)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
