Job Summary

This is the job for someone who wants to make a founder famous.

Erik Huberman built Hawke Media without outside capital, has done 26+ acquisitions, and his venture funds have backed 120+ companies, including Epic Games and Klaviyo. He hosts a podcast, co-hosts a TV series, wrote a book, speaks on big stages, and is set on becoming the household name in marketing. Your job is to make that happen.

You won't be starting from zero. The platforms, the stories and the access are already there. You bring the ideas, the camera, the relationships and the hustle to turn all of it into a brand everyone knows.

Erik's platforms: HawkeTalk (his podcast since 2020), The Hawke Method (his 2022 book), Next Hot Founder: LA Edition (an unscripted series he co-hosts), his Forbes and Entrepreneur bylines, his speaking, and his social accounts on X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Reddit.

Why This Job Is Different
  • You'll own it. Erik's brand is your project to run, with real say over what goes out under his name.
  • You'll have great material. A podcast, a TV series, a book, big stages, triathlons, and side quests like running a shoot house at a Vegas gun ranch.
  • You'll get a front-row seat when it counts. Select shoot days, stages and events like HawkeFest and First Tuesdays.
  • You'll have an award-winning marketing team behind you. Collaborate with Hawke Media's creative, PR and paid media experts on everything you build.
  • You'll see the numbers move. You'll know every week what your work did for follower growth, bookings and press.
  • You'll work directly with the CEO. No layers. Your ideas go straight to Erik and ship fast.
What You'll Do

Grow Erik's profile (most of the job)

  • Run Erik's social everywhere: X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Reddit.
  • Turn footage from Erik's events, trips and stages into short videos.
  • Book and prep podcast appearances.
  • Land speaking opportunities, working with Hawke Media's award-winning marketing team.
  • Help with press, bylines and longer projects.

Erik's platforms

  • HawkeTalk: help run and grow the show, from booking guests and prepping episodes to clipping and promoting each one.
  • Next Hot Founder: LA Edition: turn the show into content for Erik's channels.
  • The Hawke Method: keep promoting the book, and help with any future book.

Hands-on brand work

  • Write and edit posts in Erik's voice.
  • Track how posts perform.
  • Keep his bio, headshots and press materials up to date.
  • Research podcasts and events worth doing.
  • Be a main point of contact with Erik's network.
  • Direct the AI tools that handle Erik's first drafts, research and scheduling, and make sure what they produce is right.

Some assistant work (about 10 to 15%)

  • Event logistics, follow-ups and the occasional errand.
How We'll Measure It

You'll set goals with Erik in your first 30 days and send a short monthly update. We'll look at follower growth, podcast and speaking bookings, and press.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
