Performance Media Manager

We’re looking for a hands-on, analytically sharp Performance Media Manager to drive paid social acquisition across our Legal business. This role is ideal for someone who can build and scale campaigns in-platform, bring deep expertise in Meta, and apply strong judgment to testing, optimization, and creative problem-solving. You’ll also help expand our presence across TikTok and other emerging social channels.

In this role, you’ll own the day-to-day performance of paid social — from campaign setup and audience strategy to bidding, measurement, and ongoing optimization. You’ll partner closely with Creative, Analytics, and Growth teams to improve efficiency, uncover new opportunities, and translate insights into better performance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own paid social campaign execution: Build, launch, and optimize campaigns across Meta, TikTok, and other social platforms. Apply a strong understanding of campaign structure, objective selection, audience strategy, and conversion tracking to drive efficient acquisition.
  • Lead optimization and experimentation: Continuously improve performance through thoughtful testing and rapid iteration. Design experiments across audiences, creative, placements, bidding, and campaign formats to uncover what drives results and where to scale.
  • Bring platform expertise: Serve as the in-platform expert for Meta, with additional ownership across TikTok and emerging social channels. Stay on top of platform updates, auction dynamics, and best practices to keep campaigns competitive.
  • Shape bidding and audience strategy: Use platform signals, first-party data, and audience insights to refine targeting and bidding approaches. Balance efficiency and scale by making smart, data-informed optimization decisions.
  • Build AI-enabled media workflows: Actively experiment with AI tools to improve the speed and quality of campaign planning, analysis, optimization, reporting, and creative development. Identify high-value use cases, test new workflows, measure their impact, and scale approaches that improve productivity or performance.
  • Apply AI to performance insights and creative experimentation: Use AI thoughtfully to accelerate data analysis, surface patterns and hypotheses, generate testing ideas, and support creative iteration. Partner with Creative and Analytics to evaluate where AI-generated or AI-assisted approaches can improve the volume, velocity, or effectiveness of experimentation while maintaining strong quality standards and human judgment.
  • Partner to improve creative and measurement: Work closely with Creative, Analytics, and CRO teams to ensure campaigns are supported by strong messaging, clear measurement, and fast feedback loops. Turn performance insights into actionable recommendations that improve both media and creatives.
  • Drive measurable business impact: Own outcomes, not just activity. Monitor performance against acquisition and efficiency goals, identify risks and opportunities quickly, and make decisions that consistently improve results.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in performance media, paid social, or digital acquisition
  • Deep expertise in Meta Ads Manager, with strong working knowledge of TikTok and other social platforms
  • Hands-on experience building, launching, and optimizing campaigns directly in-platform
  • Strong understanding of bidding, targeting, audience strategy, and performance optimization
  • A test-and-learn mindset, with the ability to design experiments and turn insights into action
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to diagnose issues and improve results
  • Demonstrated curiosity and competency with AI tools, with the ability to apply them to real business workflows rather than use them only for ad hoc tasks
  • Experience experimenting with AI-enabled tools for analysis, research, creative development, automation, or campaign optimization, and evaluating whether those workflows improve quality, speed, or performance
  • Ability to combine AI capabilities with sound business judgment, critical thinking, and appropriate human review
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with creative, analytics, and growth teams
  • Highly organized, proactive, and execution-oriented
  • Curiosity about new platforms, formats, and growth opportunities

What Success Looks Like in 6–12 Months:

  • Paid social campaigns are launched and optimized with speed, precision, and consistency
  • Meta performance improves through better structure, targeting, and bidding strategy
  • TikTok and emerging platforms are contributing meaningfully to acquisition
  • A clear testing framework is in place for audiences, creative, placements, and formats
  • Creative and media recommendations are more tightly connected through strong performance insights
  • The business has greater visibility into what’s driving social performance and how to scale it
  • A repeatable AI experimentation framework is in place, with clear hypotheses, tests, and measures of impact
  • High-value AI use cases have been incorporated into day-to-day media workflows where they demonstrably improve speed, quality, or performance
  • The team has a clearer understanding of where AI creates meaningful leverage — and where human expertise and judgment remain essential

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
