Seer is a remote-first agency and a Certified B-Corp, with team members across the country. If an office environment is more your style, this position can also sit in our HQ office in Philadelphia. We can only consider candidates based in the US who can work continental US-based hours.

The Role: You’re a motion-first creative who knows how to make a six-second ad say everything. You bring sharp instincts for visual storytelling and an experimental edge—especially when AI is part of the process. You thrive in fast-paced sprints, love trying new tools, and use feedback to level up your creative with each iteration. Your sweet spot is where performance meets concept.

This is a contractor role that will require ~90 hours total across 3 projects and 4-6 weeks. Timing may vary and additional projects may be available following the initial project.

Role Highlights

  • You’ll create short-form motion assets (6s - 30s) for paid social campaigns across TikTok, Meta, Pinterest, and more
  • You’ll bring briefs to life with kinetic text, animated UGC, product loops, and AI tools (like generative video or voiceover tools)
  • You’ll partner closely with Creative Strategists and Paid Media leads to align on goals and direction
  • You’ll edit raw content, remix static into motion, and develop net-new concepts using generative tools
  • You’ll help us stay ahead of the curve by testing emerging AI tools and sharing what’s working

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in motion design for advertising or social content
  • Deep proficiency in After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Figma
  • Strong portfolio showcasing ad-centric motion design—especially for social platforms like Meta and TikTok
  • Hands-on experience using AI creative tools like Runway, Pika, D-ID, or similar
  • Ability to interpret brand guidelines and translate them into fast, effective creative
  • Experience editing UGC-style content and building assets from scratch
  • Comfortable in collaborative environments and receptive to quick-turn feedback
  • Bonus: familiarity with scripting or prompt-based visuals using tools like ChatGPT or Midjourney

This might not be the right role for you if

  • You prefer longer-form content over short, fast-turn ad creative
  • You’re uncomfortable using AI tools in your creative process
  • You work best in structured, linear workflows
  • You’re not interested in using data to improve or inform creative

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
