McGuire Woods’ Los Angeles - Century City office is seeking a Paralegal to support a broad, fast-paced commercial litigation practice group. The ideal candidate will be an operations-oriented professional who will serve as the project management backbone of the case teams, taking complete ownership of case timelines, master discovery tracking, and drive the analytical organization of complex case files.

Responsibilities- Assisting attorneys with the operational management of files, maintaining master discovery tracking logs, and ensuring the litigation team has continuous visibility into case timelines.
- Analyzing and organizing voluminous documents to construct detailed case chronologies, leveraging technology and spreadsheets to identify gaps in data and conduct foundational research for subpoenas.
- Managing case calendars and docketing functions in coordination with central docketing and court systems to ensure compliance with deadlines.
- Navigating procedural rules to oversee filings in California state and federal courts and serving as a liaison with court clerks to resolve filing inquiries.
- Managing the lifecycle of subpoenas from initial research and drafting through issuance, tracking, and follow-up.
- Collaborating with case teams on operational infrastructure to keep files organized and moving forward efficiently.
- Prior experience in a professional legal environment managing complex projects or case files, with a track record of meticulous document management, timeline construction, and proactive problem-solving.
- Demonstrated organizational, multi-tasking, and project management skills, with a proven ability to operate as a self-starter and exercise ownership over caseloads.
- Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills, with the confidence to actively interface and coordinate with court clerks, vendors, and trial teams.
- Technical proficiency along with an aptitude for learning new platforms and legal technology.
- Familiarity with navigating California state court rules, with federal e-filing experience considered a plus.
