We are looking for a leader to join our localization team! As a leader in this space, you will build, tune and oversee operations around localization of our Snapchat App, PR & Marketing content and experiences in 40+ languages. You will work closely with the Engineering, QA, Product, Design, Marketing and Sales teams to make sure Snap is a truly global product.
What you’ll do:
Lead the localization of Snap products from inception to launch, owning project management, cost and quality of the experience and overseeing various vendor execution.
Work closely with Engineering, QA, Product and Design to ensure that the Snapchat Experience globally is as high quality as Snapchat experience can be.
Build a strong education system to lead product’s localization journey from inception to delivery
Understand Snapchat roadmap and identify process and tooling needed to scale up localization operations. Be a thought leader for localization launch and product readiness initiatives and guide the team’s direction overall.
Evangelize localization best practices, raise awareness of localization processes, requirements, timelines and impact with cross-functional partners
Be accountable for the product’s localization budget, from understanding the product’s roadmap to drive the annual planning, to advising stakeholders on optimizing their spend.
Define clear success metrics for the team
Manage and mentor a team of great people in a fast-paced, quick-to-market environment
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of work experience in people management
5+ years of experience in software localization, translation, QA testing or Linguistic QA management
Experience leading a team of project/program managers/Localization QAs
Localization thought leadership: track record of managing localization processes to deliver on localization-related projects to clients/stakeholders through innovation and continuous improvement
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail
Analytical skills, experience with using data to provide insights and build a roadmap
Preferred Qualifications:
M.A. in Translation, Linguistics, Localization project management or similar field of study
7+ years of relevant experience in software localization, QA testing, linguistic quality management
Experience with managing vendor relationships at scale
Demonstrated knowledge of internationalization and localization processes, standards and industry trends
Bilingual in English and a foreign language
Experience using Snapchat app
