About Odys

At Odys, we’re mobilizing power, with Hybrid Power Systems developed for aerospace and in-demand everywhere. It’s the kind of mission diversity that demands a fresh way of thinking.

We began with an early bet on hybrid, when the mobility industry was focused on batteries. We designed, tested, and validated our first 1 MW high-speed generator in 12 months. And then we pushed further, developing systems with greater power density in less time. Today, our Hybrid Power Systems offer outputs ranging from 20 kW to 4 MW, with applications in the air or on the ground.

One of those applications is Laila, an unmanned drone designed for critical logistics and defense missions. With its 100 kW-class onboard Hybrid Power System, Laila can support medical cold-chain transport or serve as an aerial platform for counter-UAS measures.

The market interest has been overwhelming: Over 30 inbound requests from leading US and global manufacturers, and 14+ DoD contracts.

Our team comes from deep tech and aerospace, with backgrounds spanning drone and aircraft development, high-volume production, and electrified mobility.

We operate with urgency and ownership at every level. We validated high-speed generator technology faster than our peers, not because we skipped steps, but because we've been doing this long enough to know which ones matter most.

Creating the future of power, in the air and on the ground, is a challenge we’ve been training our entire lives for. If that sounds like you, this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

We’re looking for an organized, proactive Office Manager to keep our Long Beach operations running smoothly and to be the heartbeat of our team culture. This cross-functional role spans accounting support, HR and onboarding, and office management. It also makes you our People & Culture Ambassador: the person who helps every employee feel welcome, connected, and part of what we’re building. You’ll report to the Senior Director of Finance and work closely with leadership, engineering, and operations. It’s a good fit for someone who likes variety, takes ownership, and wants to grow with an early-stage aerospace company.

What You’ll Do

Accounting Support

  • Process vendor invoices: code them to the correct GL accounts and projects, match them to POs and receipts, and route them for approval

  • Support weekly AP runs, including payment prep, vendor follow-up, and resolving discrepancies

  • Maintain vendor master data, including W-9 collection, banking details, and new supplier onboarding

  • Track and reconcile employee expenses and company card transactions, and follow up on missing receipts and coding

  • Assist with month-end close tasks, document filing, and audit support as needed

HR & Onboarding

  • Coordinate new-hire onboarding end to end: offer paperwork, I-9 verification, HRIS setup, equipment, badging, and first-day logistics

  • Manage offboarding checklists, including equipment return and system access removal

  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and keep personnel files organized and compliant

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions about benefits, PTO, and policies, and escalate as needed

  • Support payroll prep by collecting timesheets, changes, and new-hire information

People & Culture Ambassador

  • Be the go-to person for making new hires feel welcome from day one, through first-week check-ins, introductions across teams, and a great first impression of Odys

  • Plan and run company events, celebrations, milestones, and team-building activities that bring engineering, operations, and business teams together

  • Champion our values and help shape the culture as we grow, partnering with leadership on engagement initiatives

  • Recognize and celebrate wins, including aircraft milestones, work anniversaries, birthdays, and team achievements

  • Gather employee feedback through pulse surveys, informal conversations, and stay interviews, and bring insights and ideas to leadership

  • Help make the office a place people want to be, through the environment, perks, and shared rituals

Office Operations

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the Long Beach facility: supplies, kitchen, mail, shipping and receiving, and visitor management

  • Act as the main contact for building management, facilities vendors, and service providers (cleaning, maintenance, IT, security)

  • Manage office purchasing and keep spend within budget

  • Coordinate facility access and badging, and help maintain visitor and security protocols

  • Support travel booking and calendar coordination for leadership as needed

  • Identify and implement process improvements as the company scales

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years in office management, administrative, or operations roles, ideally with AP or bookkeeping exposure

  • Working knowledge of AP processes and basic accounting concepts

  • Experience with onboarding and HR administration, and familiarity with an HRIS (e.g., Rippling, Paylocity, or similar)

  • Comfortable with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, and quick to learn new systems

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle competing priorities

  • Discreet with confidential financial and employee information

  • A natural connector who builds relationships easily and genuinely enjoys bringing people together

  • Warm, approachable, and trusted, the kind of person teammates feel comfortable coming to

  • Creative ideas for events and engagement, plus the follow-through to execute them on a startup budget

  • A self-starter who’s comfortable in a startup environment where roles evolve

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
