To help us stay organized, please apply using the form and include a portfolio — it’s the best way to ensure we see your work. We kindly ask that you don’t reach out via LinkedIn, email, or text, as direct messages can’t be prioritized and may reflect poorly. We’re currently only reviewing U.S. and Singapore-based applicants due to client-facing needs, legal requirements, and time zone overlap. No cover letter needed, and thanks for understanding!

About Nen Creative

Nen Creative is an interdisciplinary studio helping early-stage startups accelerate their vision through brand, design, and marketing.

Since 2022, we've partnered with some of the world’s top founders and institutions — including Amazon, Pear VC, Andreessen Horowitz, Mercor, Context Inc, Netic, Listen Labs, Tech Week, the University of Pittsburgh, Somethings, Mantis VC, Spur, Flora, and more. We’re growing fast and looking for great people to join us.

About the Opportunity

We’re building the motion studio we always dreamed of — fast-moving, design-led, and trusted by the best in the world. In just over a year, we’ve gone from zero to partnering with Amazon, top-tier VCs, and the most ambitious startups out there.

Now, we’re looking for a second motion designer with sharp visual instincts and refined animation craft to help shape the next era of brand and product storytelling. You’ll join a small, focused team creating high-impact work across UI, brand, and marketing — defining how tomorrow’s companies move.

What We’re Looking For

  • A strong portfolio focused on product and UI motion (not character or cel animation)

  • Sharp visual design skills — strong sense of timing, type, layout, and transitions

  • Proficiency in After Effects and Figma; ability to move quickly between them

  • Comfortable taking ownership and working independently in fast-paced settings

Bonus Points

  • Familiarity with marketing work: social, paid, or performance creative

  • Experience with 3D (e.g., Cinema 4D, Blender, Spline)

  • Skills in editing, sound design, or visual storytelling

  • Exposure to fast-moving environments like studios, agencies, or startups

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
